Seriously, the only meaning I can attribute to their choice, and subsequent refusal to reconsider under protest, is that it's a message that they've been pwn3d by the NSA and/or other Three Letter Agencies and can't talk about it.

I found my Fujitsu Stylistic ST5031D today. It has an XP Tablet Edition sticker on the back, but that seems to be the ONLY version of XP that I don't have! I found directions here
http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/index.p ... ows-7-mat/ to turn XP into tablet edition, but this seems insanely complicated! Anybody have an easier answer?

More issues, this funky old tablet wants a PCMCIA cdrom! EEK! I think I got rid of all of those some time ago...

You could try Windows 8 32-bit on it... it's moderately tablet friendly. (I personally like those dirt-cheap quad-core Atom tablets everyone sells for $139 these days over Android or iOS tablets.

I finally got Unbuntu 10.10 running on this old tablet. Old hard meets new--a USB DVDRW was recognized as a boot device just fine

A USB CDRW from 15 years ago (about the same age as this tablet) was not

Touchpen and everything works fine!
