Does it only look like it, or is it rather different to the original key color and surface? If you scroll to the topic "Compatibility" you see that it is darker and shinier than the other keys.

nah they are the same.

Really like the new system of being able to choose your colours! Also under $20 so theoretically no custom charges, although considering the exchange rate...

is it me or has the price gone up since last we saw this drop??

btw MSRP of $35 that's $17,50 per spacebar is just nuts hahaha... Looking around at single Topre keycaps the price is around $12. So this drop is just right at $12,50 a pop..and hoping customs doesn't crew us EU people ..Because Massdrop still doesn't heave a EU warehouse ...

Last time it cost me $28.50 plus $6.70 for delivery, that's 28.50/4 = $7.125.
This time it cost me $15 plus $5 for delivery, that's 15/2 = $7.50.
So yeah slightly more expensive but you get to choose colours and they might sneak under the customs allowance for the UK anyway (I hope).

Very glad to see this. It is good that MD finally decided to offer a Drop for the spacebars only without bundling them with an expensive keyboard. I've ordered some dark gray spacebars.

matt3o, what does "refined texture much closer to the original" mean? Does it mean it's much smoother like ABS? Because if it's not PBT grainy I don't really want them tbh.

it's still slightly rougher than the original ABS, but smoother than the previous batch (we are talking about the top surface).

why wouldn't they?

Yes unfortunately you are right.
The 86U has a longer spacebar than the 87U so these PBT spacebars won't be compatible
