This is very non-keyboard related, but it merits a post anyways. My Subaru died a horrible death recently. Unfortunately I couldn't pick up the Testarossa from Ohio.

I did, however, find a '96 Honda Civic coupe.

Good to hear, and so much more practical than the Testarossa! :P

I find that quite disturbing kbdfr, especially since the damn HSV is my home town Bundesliga team. […]
I have a Schumi one and would trade against the HSV one, but not the Hertha one. But I suspect neither of you are Formula 1 fans either ... :D

I wish they did an Eintracht one with a black/white/red color scheme.

Not switch top removal cutouts? Why?
Alps -> no need for it
Oh that means you can get these http://www.ebay.fr/itm/141643552738 and don't worry about lubing and such? I made a tv/player remote out of one of these but used cherry clones :/

How did you made that remote?
Sounds great! (with pro micros/teensys? Or...)

I'm using a Chord Mojo DAC/Amp. A pretty capable little thing ;)

That is indeed very nice, so elegant.

It's quite charming. So much so that I designed an SA keyset for 60% keyboards based on it. I doubt it'll ever become a GB though.

Just noticed something weird; how do you type "1" on it?

Posted: 25 Aug 2016, 21:51

Lowercase L, as on many old typewriters

Really!? That's a funky way to save a key ;)

From Wikipedia:
Many older typewriters did not include a separate key for the numeral 1 or the exclamation point, and some even older ones also lacked the numeral zero. Typists who trained on these machines learned the habit of using the lowercase letter l ("ell") for the digit 1, and the uppercase O for the zero. A cents symbol (¢) was created by combining (over-striking) a lower case 'c' with a slash character (typing 'c', then backspace, then '/').

Congrats, Dr. Khers, to both your dissertation and probably the best "affordable" head phones ever. I got mine two months ago and I am utterly impressed.

I got myself an AKG K712 at an sale for -210€.
(mainly because of the awesome fit, wearing glasses all the time)

connected to an Objective O2 an imo nice combination.

Congrats to Dr. !

Double thanks! :) They are really nice headphones, but I got a little perplexed by their sound signature as I remembered them being described as neutral. They aren't. I now see that MD have since changed their opinion to the PH being the "fun one". I like them like that though, it's not as if they are adolescence headphones only playing ill-distinct bass and treble. They represent a clear step upwards in quality compared to my akg k550, but a lot darker. All in all, I probably won't upgrade headphones for a while. :)

I can’t help but remember how in the days (most of you, and perhaps even your parents, will have not yet been born at the time) my brother refused to replace his record player with one of those new "stereo" devices, claiming he did not hear any difference.
Spoiler:
Nor did I.

Did you know before you bought it that it is a rubberdome?

Once, when I was less knowledgeable, I jumped on one of these thinking it was BS. I messaged the seller soon afterwards and said I made a mistake and they were kind enough and canceled the purchase.

It's too much for a rubberdome, but on the other hand, it is a really, really beautiful board. And I wonder if a top case could be made to fit an Unsaver.

I did. Space unsaver would be double or triple that price. I wanted a classic keyboard with rubber domes for quiet work.
