Tipro POS keypads:

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 87&alt=web

Are those mechanical?

They look like 4x8 Tipro modules. I'd wait for the final verdict from the Tiproman, but I'd say it's probably got MX blacks.

They obviously are 4x8 Tipro modules (with Cherry blacks),
but the absence of LED lights in the top left corner shows that they are only additional modules,
i.e. they have no own controller and cannot be used without being joined and connected to a "basic" Tipro unit.

17 x CST Kidtrac trackballs, currently @ 150 GBP + shipping:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/17-x-CST-Clea ... 1319905889

Not sure how interesting these are and they are definitely not keyboard related!
Should be around the same size as the 'adult' CST trackballs, only with the groovy colours and lower DPI (?)

Also some Traxsys trackballs from the same seller:

That micro switch board looks wonderful... I kind of want it but would probably never get to use it!

Truth! The scratched out logo on top is a dead giveaway.

Although the "old days" of buying them for 2-3€ are over. CUMB.de went down quite a while (over a year?) ago. They sold at amazon.de for a while, lowest was 6€ shipped, highest I paid was 16€ shipped, which is still OK considering they gave me a black one for the price of the grey one, after asking nicely.

So yeah, it's a cheap cumb but it's not like you could get them cheaper anywhere at the moment (except in one of my drawers). After dyeing a few sets and giving them away I could probably use another lasered PBT set for the 1800, shame this one is so far away.

GB anyone?
I'd be interested in one, but I'm unfortunately not in the UK.

if a GB happened i would take 1 possibly 2

Posted: 23 Feb 2015, 13:55
by Halvar
I'd be interested in 1 or 2, too. Andrew, would you possibly be willing to proxy? :)

Posted: 23 Feb 2015, 14:03
by andrewjoy
i was thinking of just offering him 100 quid for them and see if he would take it , i can proxy yes NP. they should be easy to convert to USB right ?

Posted: 23 Feb 2015, 14:08
by Halvar
Brilliant! I'd hope that a typical 4 bucks converter (not Soarer's) should be able to do it.

Who else would take one/some?

Posted: 23 Feb 2015, 14:10
by HzFaq
I'd probably go for one depending on the price.

I'd be in for one or two!
I have wanted to try a trackball for a while!

Man, I'd say yes but... They are so hideous

Posted: 23 Feb 2015, 15:07

I would definitely say yes! Might even take two, if you can get them for £100.

They don't look too bad actually. (I have a thing for white peripherals over black.) I could be up for one if they're cheap and someone can show us all how to convert the buggers to USB! That's a must have for me. No PS/2 ports here anywhere.

Posted: 23 Feb 2015, 15:14
by Stabilized
Shouldn't you just be able to use a converter like this to do it?

Posted: 23 Feb 2015, 15:16
by chzel
That is for keyboard only.
I think something like this should work though.

Posted: 23 Feb 2015, 15:17

Great, that is even cheaper :D

I am also interested if the GB happens and the price is good enough

Here's the manufacturer's page. This seems to be an older product.

http://www.clearlysuperiortech.com/productchart.html

Newer "adult" models have USB, a separate scroll wheel and laser tracking instead of optomechanical, but are much more expensive. I would not want to use an optomechanical mouse any more, but it could be different with trackballs since they need a ball in any case. I still think it's worth a try if the price is good.

he wont take less than 150 for them

I'd be interested in one as well if the price is decent enough.

Posted: 23 Feb 2015, 22:55

Well, 150£/17 + shipping still seems like a decent price for one of these. Andy, if you do this mini GB I'm definitely in for one.
