It's a rare DELL branded Modell M. The seller is auctioning two of these.

I meant to do the same with my Macintosh SE/30. The CRT is black and white (literally, incapable of greys) and I've a Core 2 Duo Mac Mini lying around without a screen. But that's a lot of bother for something not especially authentic.

yes there seem to have been quite a few Dell branded keyboards, Ascaii recently found a Dell branded Cherry G80/81.

Let's say Crunch and Ascaii found it, we can't tell who spotted it first.

Cherry Spacesaver ML4100
Looks in very good shape. How do ML switches feel like? I've seen a video review on youtube and the guy wasn't that crazy about these switches. He found the MLs in this model to be kind of scratchy, so he lubed the switches. I've only tried MX browns and blues from the Cherry family.

I just can't type on ML switches, it's so rough, just like salmon Alps. In both case, lube might help, but I did not try.

"Rough" as in scratchy / overall unpleasing or as in high actuation force required? Oh, and I didn't try Alps either

Really scratchy and really hard to activate if you're not on the exact middle of the keycap.

Ugh, that board suddenly became a lot less sexy. But I do like the layout.
I do recall an old thread here about some really neat Cherry switches that are not made anymore, but I don't remember their name. It would appear it's not the MLs, then.

My little experience with Cherry MLs is, that they are indeed quite scratchy but far better concerning off-center key presses than I always thought, they feel OK to me. I still want a keyboard with them, a winkeyless G84-4100 would do it for me.

MLs are good… for a miniature switch.
You're definitely not thinking of MY, which is terrible in every sense but one: takes MX compatible caps. Phew! Think of how useless those G81 keyboards would be if not for that…
The ancient little
M84s are nice. A shorter throw, low profile, brother of MX; with cap compatibility!
And Cherry made some fairly nice large linear switches, in the era before MX. Nothing remarkable, they're no Micro Switch (Hall effect), let alone beam spring. But I imagine a board full of them could be quite charming, with thick doubleshots matching its vintage.
I still prefer Montereys and damped Alps to any switch Cherry has made, though. MX gets my respect for its staying power and the world of compatible caps it has generated. Doesn't hurt to be the broadest family of switches ever, too! Even if they didn't get damping right…

Asked that same question for the PPC512 three monthes ago
on Reddit, and the conclusion was that it's mechanical but without more information. But I doubt it's Cherry or Alps due to Amstrad having
its own switches.

Sorry, the auction is clickbait at it's finest.
Saying "spacesaver", like it's some kind of SSK, instead of the "G84 compact-keyboard" that Cherry calls it... Adding "vintage" just because it is old. And those shiny keycaps "great condition" oh well...
Even though it's a deprecated model you can still get these new for 50€ at Amazon.de... With unused ML switches. Not that it would make the switches much better. It is just a flat compact keyboard to throw around server rooms and the like, not something designed for a typist.

To me it seems that ML is like white Alps — it's a matter of luck how well the switches work, since opinion is so divided.
I have a 1998(?) ML4400 and, while it's true that you can't use the corners of the larger keycaps, it's far more forgiving than some claims people make. I also have a newer ML4100 and I don't find that as easy to type on (both because the switches are finicky, and because it's just too cramped — my ML4400 has a more generous layout).
I was surprised how scratchy the ML4400 was when I got it, but I find it great to type on.
