I recently got this set of Arabian doubleshots, alps mount, and I'm really proud of them:
Full rubberdome gloriousness
Glamorous shots
With their cover on
It's a shame I don't have any alps keyboard to use them. I need to get one

كيكابس لطيفة. كنت بحاجة إلى العثور على لوحة المفاتيح جبال الألب مع نفس التصميم. الخلفي كبيرة أدخل مسافة للخلف رئيسي ومزدوج الحجم قد يكون تحديا.

They are so nice
You could get yourself a northgate they are built like tanks! But they are already doubleshot so it may be a waste

( not as nice as your caps tho)

Those caps will pimp any old Alps board nicely.

So long as it's the matching layout. Like I said already, in curly Arabic…
None of the handful of Alps boards that I have match those caps. Big Ass Enter usually comes with a single unit backspace, not a doubler. Etc.

The cyrillic verision looks quite good on my KPT-84. Only using the bow keycaps though.

Gorgeous board, seebart. I've been considering looking into one of those recently as they have an almost totally sane layout that could be remapped very well. How do you like the board? Have the white ALPS aged well?

Thanks scottc, I know this keyboard well in a slighty different variation without that navigational cluster. This one has an interesting layout, large shift on the left which I love and allways miss on ISO. That bottom row is a first for me also.Since this is new in box the white Alps feel snappy. A quick reference card comes with the keyboard that explaines there are 12 optional keyboard repeat rates from 2 Char./Sec. to 130 Char./ Sec. which are set with that turbo key. I like it, it´s a keeper.

Yeah, definitely a keeper alright! Nice to know that the white ALPS are still feeling good. All of the older ones that I've used have been quite stiff and rusty-feeling, but they've also been heavily used.
The turbo button is a nice touch, too! I always wondered what it was for...

Very nice indeed. I'd hijack that £$ key for Fn, as it's in the perfect position. Three mods a side is ideal, as well. Almost makes up for ole Big Ass!
Are these dyesubs?

you know my print spotting skills Mu! You tell me! Dyesub is really sharp right? Or was it with a fuzzy edge?

I'd quite like that Turbo key as Fn!

Fn1, Fn2… you always want more than one.
@Seebart: Dyesub is the hard one. Doubleshot is easy: just look inside a cap. Multiple colours? Doubleshot!
But dyesub is right there on the surface, like cheaper methods whose names I always jumble up. I think the best way to ID it is to compare caps you know already side by side. All IBM caps from Model F and M are dyesub, as are Topre's. Dyesub is nice and rich compared to the crap methods. It's sharp, but not as sharp as doubleshot. In fact, it's easy to do badly, like Unicomp!

well they´re not doubleshots unlike on my other Focus kb´s! Left ESC cap is from a Model M:

alright another try, IBM is left:

That red Esc legend looks painted on to me. You can see the embossed shape by the way the light shines on the lower side of each curve. "Pad printed" maybe? I don't know the name for it, but I can tell you they wear off from experience!

Yup, looks pad printed to me. Definitely not dyesub, as the letters are raised.
Posted: 17 Feb 2015, 20:45
by seebart
the "regular" caps like that "A" are not raised though.

That seems a bit too clear to be dyesub but it's really difficult to tell. Is that a Unicomp cap or original IBM?

that cap is from a square label M 1390133
