@cptn: Ah yes, that makes sense. Just not so much to actually enable. ;)

Or buy a Japanese M with Brother BS.

KBTalking Limited Edition Aluminum Pure

Wow! I just did a little experiment, and it turns out that you CAN run ALL of the LEDs at one step below full brightness. Or, as I tested before, all of the orange LEDs at full brightness if you don't turn on the white LEDs.

If you trip the breaker, just unplug the CCK and keyboard, plug the CCK back in, then the keyboard, and turn your backlight back on, and keep calm and carry on.

Arrived in 4 days from Mechanical Keyboards.com with nice crinkled paper enviro packaging.
Image

Hey, I found one of the screws!
Image

Don't ask me what the scribble means.
Image

Whoops!
Image

That connector worries me, I'm gonna do Captains right angle adapter trick.
Image

Notice the almost rubbery finish on the keys. Not textured, kinda filco like but not as smooth.
Image

BTW Deskthority.net EASILY gets THREE times the page views of OCN these days......

Got any pictures of how it looks with keycaps that aren't translucent? I like the layout of the Pure, but I can't stand backlighting.

Here ya go!

The Oblig Key Reference Shot
Image

Looks quite Filcoey
Image

This shows the fine lasering that is done AFTER the coating. But it also shows a trapped dust particle in the sprayed coating. The texture is NOT my favorite. Not rubbery but not pebbly plastic either. A bit weird compared to the Topres I'm typing on now (my favs).
Image

Now for the Aluminum case, what I consider the best part of the keyboard. NICE and heavy - makes an enormous difference in keeping it put and makes for a VERY stable feel while typing.
Image

I'm not sure why an earlier review in my Ripster Subforum by laffindude(I think???) didn't like the case. I like the design ethos.
Image

Simple rubber feet do the job. You'd have to go looking for those Aluminum stereo parts legs to prop them up if needed .But then I don't type with legs up so it's no biggie to me.
Image

If you look VERY closely you can see some machining marks. But I consider that like PING. Don't go looking for trouble and trouble won't find you.
Image

To be honest I haven't had the time to play with these due to all the excitement of other events.
Image

Side view.
Image

So overall a BIG THUMBS up on the case and the keys.

I have found myself a replacement cable for the Pure!

Translation needed.

Ah... svalander. Every once in a while me and a pal browse that site for some good laughs and mind blasts. It's just so ridiculous! Like that CD demagnetizer (that also is useful for demagnetizing other random audio equipment).
One can discuss if quality really matters on your USB cable. The digital information is controlled with checksums and gets sent again if an error occurs. In theory, there is no reason to believe that one can hear any difference with different USB cables.

In practice however, it's not that easy. Many hear a clear difference with different USB cables when playing music.
It has silver plated OFC(?) copper, three layers of shielding for reducing vibrations and god knows what more.

How do you take the picture with the multimeter?
There's a hook on the PCB that allows them to stand up?

The last photo reminds me of the few GH threads on problems with the backlighting on the Race and/or Pure failing after some weeks/months of use. Any further word on this?

Sorry, just remembered that this thread is in the "Photos & videos" section.
