You must be kidding of course.

If that's real, then, oh mon dieu, the world is going to hell. Only billionaires from now on, will be able to type on one of those (while going for a space trip). Oh the humanity! The horror!

No I'm dead serious. I tried to buy it and the seller told me that the top bit was currently 10k and that was approximately 15 days before final sale.

I have no evidence what the final price has been, but it must be up in the air. My offer wasn't even responded to and it was ... substantial (and very early on).

What are you deeming to be substantial? Was it close to or exceeding 10k?

I would have been going close to it. I started with half the price as an offer. Probably I was already last in the row ;)

Ok, this is getting out of control. It seems that we will need Sotheby's soon...

Is there any safe way to sell these kinds of expensive boards on ebay or paypal?
As far as I know, sellers are always screwed up if the buyer claims to use the buyers protection.

IMHO, over here you will have some very solid people who can be trusted...

For this kind of money, an escrow is needed to ensure the transaction goes well for all parties. An escrow is a third party that is trusted by both, and that will receive the board and the money together, and then and only then, will sent them respectively to their new owners. It works and it's been done for centuries ;)

Of course this party must be i dependent and paid for, to ensure there are no conflicts with any of the parties.
