Ugh. Sometimes I just wish the US would invade Canada and get it over with. These international shipping prices are absolutely ridiculous. Why would I pay $50 for shipping a $30 keyboard? Damn it all.

Also, This:

What the heck? That's clearly a Model F, but it's labelled Model M... Halp. If not for the shipping I'd probably buy this and just see what I got, but considering the shipping is another $45 US on top of the $90... well. $160 CAN is a fair amount of money to spend on a maybe.

That seems to be a Bigfoot. Contact Cindy/elecplus, she seems to have one for 25$ + shipping from US:

Thanks for the reply. With a cooler head, and after looking into it a bit more, I've realized that the work necessary to mod one of these to work with a modern PC is probably beyond what I'm comfortable doing, regardless of the price. Oh well.

That's not to say I don't drool over getting a model f; I just don't think I'm up to messing too much with soldering new cables, etc, especially with the Bigfoot model. Someday maybe.

I've googled for that a while ago. I can't remember for sure but I think it was a rubberdome or some kind of slider over dome. In the end I decided for me that it isn't interesting.
But I'm not sure about that since it was really a while ago. Maybe you can ask the seller to take a photo with a keycap removed.

I presume he meant NMB dome with slider. RT-6xxx should be rubber dome over membrane (and with sliders I guess). RT-8xxx is space invaders.

What's with the separate left and right Windows keys on that? Does anyone seriously apply separate custom bindings to the two Windows keys separately?

Clearly the seller is a bit confused, or has posted some extraneous pics. 4176191 is the correct PN for the bigfoot, which this seems to be. Unfortunately, I shipped my last one (for the moment) out today.

What good would it do to buy one anyway? Is there any conversion possible for a bigfoot Model F?

Also, I found this. Doesn't look too bad. The seller doesn't seem to know what they have, but it looks like a keyboard from a 5155 Portable PC. Anyone think it's worth buying?

Nah, we don't like rar.

Anyway, things can be rare and worth very little indeed. Interest is what drives prices. Only then does scarcity matter.

Well, it's worth cleaning up and documenting on the wiki. Nobody's ever documented that type before and then we'll have our documented evidence that the membrane RT101* became RT6nnn. Cheap keyboards might not be worth money, but they're often worth more just in the value of the knowledge they contain.

Mx clear both of them (at least I hope so since I already bought the third one).

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Cherry-MediChip- ... 2a46bcd4d9

edit : just checked the wiki, they're black. I feel so dumb :(

Nah, for a total of 40 € you have now:
- very good black springs (and stems, if you like linears)
- stabilizers
- keycaps

So, more options for building other keyboards :)

I already have 3 x g80-1800 with blacks (before you ask, they were very cheap). I really wanted to try out mx clear. Guess I'll keep looking.
