Strange terminalish legends and no number block legends. The non-fitting cable could mean this is a Terminal model that had a different cable originally. Although with IBM, you never know.

Look at how the second bidder (_***i) bid 199.99 € today. After he did that he must have seen that the highest bid went up to 200€ (instead of 204.99€), so he knew that n***u had bid exactly 200€ the day before. When _***i saw that, he stopped bidding.

So _***i doesn't want to buy, he wants someone else to pay as much as possible ...

Not quite. The 41% figure is for the last 30 days. And that list shows just this one auction from the seller in question. Apparently this guy's just in a plain old bidding war. Which makes sense, as a 4 figure star rating would be one hell of a shill! They're usually pitifully obvious with ratings of next to nothing, and 100% of their activity with their master.

Why does he stop at 199.99 € when he can see that the other bidder bid exactly 200.00? Also, all that manual bidding in very small intervals seems pretty typical... He only does that for this one item, not for any of the other ones he's bidding on.

The 4 figure rating just means that this is an account that is also used for (professinal ?) selling. There are good reasons to have both a personal and a separate commercial account.

i was bidding for a set of Technics stereo gear and someone sniped the first auction ( for the tape deck only) i increased by bid on the rest of it and managed to get it ( still for a good price ) so the c**t was left with a useless tape deck no amp no cd player no turntable . I think i silent bidding system would be better where you submit how much you are willing to pay and then after it ends the highest bid gets it, no bidding against each-other or upping your bids. This would stop sniper and stop people inflating the bids.

If you’re bidding on ebay before the last 5 seconds of an auction, you’re doing it wrong.

There’s absolutely zero advantage in bidding early. If there’s another bidder, you give them a chance to increase their bid, either leaving you to still win but at a higher price, or beating you.

Ebay is a stupid platform, but complaining about snipers is dumb. Just be a sniper yourself and stop worrying about it.

You’ll save time, money, worry, and regret. Just decide up front on the maximum amount you’re willing to spend for any particular item, put in a snipe using some automated service right up front, and then don’t look at the auction again unless you win, just put it out of your mind..

This is great advice. The last thing you want to do is get emotion involved, otherwise you end up like this guy.

Exactly. The whole bidding system including ebay's automated bidding agent is designed to maximize prices, which is in ebay's best interest. They even give you false advice all the time (bid now, bid early ...).

Automated sniping is the best answer to that. By bidding late, you give less information to your competition that they can act on, including shill bidders. It keeps prices low for buyers by preventing bidding wars.

I had no clue there are clear clones. Another thing to keep an eye out for.

That is a beautiful keyboard, really interesting layout.

Looks like a 7bit implementation of "RGB" graphics.

Twice I missed out on getting an Otrona Attaché. One time was especially tragic - a last second swipe on a NOS Attaché keyboard. I foolishly didn't think anybody would want it, so left my bid at $22. It went for $22.50. It's still painful to think about.
