This ought to put to rest any notion that there was too much Granite out in the world already. Nine months or a year from now, there will be a whole new wave of first-time buyers ready to buy some tasty Granite. I think it would be worth considering allowing MassDrop (or PMK) to automatically re-run the basic kits every so often, based on interest from new buyers.

The value of those keycaps is $50 as far as Her Majesty's Customs is concerned.

I'd call it a fiver myself, but I'm classy like that.

Who's your partner in this whitest of white collar crimes? Not MassDrop themselves!

A good friend who is about to send me two packages with about 5 keyboards and a tonne of miscellaneous bits and pieces. Including my NIB SSK, NIB 1390131, Scitex 1800, Das II and a Realforce 87UW 55g.

Oh, well, that probably is worth about 20 quid then. Just by weight.

don't know if it's better than sex, but it surely lasts longer.

So that's what an Elven typewriter looks like. Every key nudges a scribe!

The blue arrows go very well. So far, my Granite is still all grey arrows. Like some austere wizard.

I'm a bit surprised that only 292 Elven kits sold. Word must not have gotten out to the wider Tolkien universe.

Or the intersection of Tolkien fans and MK customisers isn't that massive.

292 elven kits is HUGE, consider as a proportion that the intl kit has seen only 67 buyers.

I bought 2 one because that Ergodox looks sick with them and another for a standard 60%. If I could have got the set without the normal letter and number and just the elven I might have bought 3!!!

From the rabid fans I know, they would have bought a new keyboard just to use the caps!

How many rabid fans do you know? How come you didn't point them toward the group buy?

That's the spirit! Putting them on in the correct order would be fiddly as hell, but they're DSA so it doesn't matter if you get the rows wrong…

Thanks for making this happen, Matteo! I'm really looking forward to my little Elven set. Granite is the one MX keyset I keep coming back to. As much as I love tall sphericals, I love that PBT texture even more.

As for the overlapping fandoms: I think we'd need a plug in the Lord of the Rings community, if such a thing exists. It's easy for us keyboard guys to get caught up with the idea that everyone follows what we're doing. Nope! People can only buy something if they find out about it. But where are these people? That's the magic of things like Star Wars that show up in stores everywhere. We are far from that.

Imagine what a Cyrillic re-run would have done for this buy! :o

No, no, you're thinking all wrong. Supply must be constrained, or existing owners of Cyrillic wouldn't feel quite as magically unicorny. We've covered this before!
