Opening it to verify what was inside is not altogether unreasonable.
That orihalcon cable sells for $40 (here domestic) just on its own.

He bought it from Ellipse, he knew full well what he was buying so verifying what was inside isn't really an excuse.
Ellipse is currently selling a pack of two sealed Model M's for $700, the ebay guy is trying to re-sell one he has opened for almost the same price as two. We all know Ellipse sells at a premium already, but this ebay guy really takes it to the next level.

This is a Panasonic Electronic Typing Station with Green Alps:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Panasonic-Elect ... 3179348744
If you let the seller know that Ohaimark / adevriesc from Deskthority sent you he'll go down to $70 shipped in the US, though he might accept lower offers too. International buyers will need to pay more shipping, of course, and he doesn't have much experience with shipping overseas.

I picked this one up! Thanks for posting! I actually offered more than I knew he'd take since I had been looking for one of these ever since I saw your original post.
Ohaimark, did you end up getting yours converted? Wondering if you have a map of where the columns and rows end up on that internal connector. If you haven't gotten around to it, I'll be sure to share whatever I come up with so you can convert yours easily, though probably won't be any time soon that I find the time for this. If it can fit on a 16x8 matrix, I'll probably go for the old favorite by using a Model F Xwhatsit and might as well throw in a solenoid for good measure. Solenoid versus functional Lock LEDs is a tough choice though. To further complicate things, maybe I can come up with a switch to choose between them on the fly.

Nope, haven't traced or converted it yet. I look forward to your write up.

HP Fujitsu leaf spring by the looks of it, and affordable. Not sure how easily it could be converted, though...

It says G81-3077 SAU, so yes, as you put it, it's "
one of the ones that Cherry people go nuts over"

Nice bidding war:

Pretty cool "mathom" - unfortunately, I'm already sitting on too many real keyboards ATM so have little room for decorations or I would go for it myself:

The guy sold a sad board some time ago. He started with way lower prices and the first boards were with signatures. Sounds like a pretty stupid thing to me

Looks like he left it outside our air-conditioned offices, during the height of summer

I pulled the trigger on another piece for my Silicon Graphics collection.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Silicon-Grap ... 2749.l2649
No idea how to get it running without the proprietary software and workstation so will probably be a teensy project.

It'll use whatever switches I tell it to use!
