I think micro switch HE tends to have spherical keycaps. This one has cylindrical keys, so I don't think it is hall effect.

If you look at that one shot you can see a reflection (metal plate?) under the keycaps. No idea what switches it uses though.

Man I would love to meet that guy to get his side of the story. There is a teeny tiny chance that work will send me to Singapore in the winter.

I have heard the gist of the story, but is there a good write up of it anywhere? I'm bored and want to get the full story

Seller only has feedback as a buyer, no other items listed either.
Kinda fits with the style of some of his other IBMs, so does the location...
Seller offers to customize the layout, which implies other IBM boards in his posession.
(I suppose further discussion should go in its own thread.)

Highly unlikely.
Consensus seems to be that he collected quite a bit of money and then sent out random packages to random destinations to some of his "buyers"
Presumably, there were some "buyers" who got more than they paid for and they kept their mouths shut.
The rest of us have never seen or heard anything whatsoever since posting our payments.
Personally, I think it may have been an angry wife exacting punishment on her husband and everybody involved with his hated hobby by deliberately shipping everything wrong.

In the version of the story I heard this is indeed correct, the wife forced him to give up his hobby.

I believe this is this answer - Check out Terrycherry's post further down the thread. This should be Microswitch discrete rubber domes - Microswitch ST I think?

I remember that, a lot of people came out angry with the wrong keyboards or no keyboards if I recall. I remember first seeing his sales thread and thinking "this cannot go well".

Insanity. A picture perfect example of what to keep away from regardless of how tempting the offers were.

The underside is hollow, which I think is a sign for rubber domes.

I have one of these. Micro Switch ST rubber domes. The square keycap shape is very typical for these switches.

That first great alps listing is a heath, aka a rebranded zenith...one if which is in the other green alps link
Also why are Wangs so hella expensive? It's dirtier than all hell and it's a lot to pay for ruined switches

Doesn't look that bad, plus ANSI keycaps.

It looks like the Great Model F Drought of 2017 continues unabated.
Only two or so months ago, I turned my nose up at a 122-key with a Soarer's Converter by Orihalcon for $175. I thought they were asking too much. I've been kicking myself daily for that piece of dumbassery.

Here in the US, there are
4 XTs on Ebay currently, in various states. 0 ATs. And 1 rather sad-looking and expensive F-122 from Taiwan.

Here is a WTB F122 post from another user

I am sure if someone posted a classified thread titled WTB F122 for (insert high $$$ here), these things would start coming out of the woodwork.

I'm still confused as to how I can tell if my 122 is an M or an F. Is there a guide or simple thing I can look at to determine whether I have an M122 or F122?

Simply take a look at the case bottom, if it's metal, it's an F122; if it's plastic, it's an M122.

Besides what has already been said, 122-key Model Fs will ALWAYS have the silver square IBM badge on the right of the function keys. Model Ms ... Usually on the left and one of the oval styles, but early Model M 122-key also had the silver square badge on the right also.
And the label on the back will always say Model M if it's a Model M and if it's still there.
But just from looking at Ebay pics, it isn't always easy to tell.
