Ahh yes I remember those, they had a pretty sturdy case if I recall. Haha...that seems like a hundred years ago now.
I found a couple of these in my basement recently: TDK MA-XG audio tapes.
These were the more expensive ones with the metal frame:

Type IV, nice! I used to go to a high end audio store to buy my blank cassettes. And I recorded on them using Dolby Type C noise reduction. Only the best.

Well, if we're on cassettes now, did anyone ever use type III? I've only read about them - ferrochrome, apparently. I can't help wondering if that's
the same ferrochrome that's used to make stainless steel... it might explain the scarcity of type III!

Anything with working OG nixie's is definitely impressive. The calculator world is a hole-nutha rabbit burrow I can't afford to journey down, but always tempting.

Sellers do sometimes raise the price of an item to a ridiculous price if they want to keep the listing up but the item is unavailable to sell at the moment. I've purchased from midwestcomp before and I got a decent deal.

I'm sure I've seen it somewhere, but as an unreleased prototype in an attempt to make an ergonomic keyboard in Japan. Probably IBM or some other big name.

Here is a Unitek K-260 which looks to have "Taiwan Jet Axis" switches.

Those switches will work on any PCB that supports Cherry MX, but they do have a problem with Costar stabilizers because of the shape of the top housing. I replaced the MX blues on a QFR with TJA switches from a Unitek.

They're linear (mostly). You can feel a tiny bit of resistance at the VERY top of the downstroke when pushing down very slowly. Same for the upstroke. They feel completely linear when typing. They're also heavier than MX blacks and a bit scratchy.
Someone gave me a different Unitek that he found at a demolition site. I put the switches into a QFR that had MX blues. It's not a keyboard that I use every day, but I do like the switches better than I liked MX blues.

seems that's what happened - price is down to a more reasonable $32.99.
