Well, looking closely it's not. You are right, and the HP it's a rubberdome, an ugly one.
The one in the middle though has some Apple signs on the keycaps.

The first one is likely an acer 6011, which will have white alps. all the otheres are rd or dome with slider, but the appledesign keyboard has a chance of coming with alps mount keycaps.

Wow, b***a really went all in on that Acer. That's an awful lot for a 6011 in so-so condition with (probably) white Alps. Unless it is somehow blue Alps and he knows it.

This is late 1989 we're talking about, a month and a bit shy of 1990. Blue Alps this late would be extremely unusual. I would say unprecedented, but my experience is not all encompassing. Even the Omnikey 102, which is notably late for blue Alps, doesn't go this late.

I'm very depressed about how much that went for - and not just because I lost the bid!
I was the one who asked if the switches clicked about halfway down - and based on the response I got I'm pretty sure the seller was honest in that he/she was genuinely afraid of damaging the board by removing a keycap - but this listing serves as further evidence that if a board has even a remote possibility of containing blue alps, it sells near or at the average blue alps price.
Someone more malicious, then, could easily list a board on ebay - a model that is known to occasionally come with blue alps but the seller knows for certain his/her specific board does not - play the i-don't-want-to-damage-the-board-by-removing-a-keycap card, and sell it for drastically more money than it should sell for...
...Okay... maybe I
am salty just because I lost the bid, haha. Congrats to b***a - I'm very interested to know what switches the board has!

By the way, that b***a account has bid ridiculously high prices on a ton of keyboards. I think many of us here have lost to that one at some point or another. To be honest, I don't really want to post nice looking finds on here anymore because I think they and many others not part of DT just use this forum as a resource and it helps to drive up prices. As I get more experienced and get to know more people here, if I see boards they might be interested in I think I'll just pm them, or post about it after the bidding war is over lol.

These are 2 different concepts.
Until I got into the keyboard game I had never removed a keycap and might have imagined that I might do irreparable damage in the process.
[ To this day I have not gotten the hang of laptops and scissor switches - if messing with them is even an option anyway. ]
But to the 2nd point - any seller can ask any price that he wants. In my opinion, the optimal strategy for a seller to maximize his take is to list at a sky-high "Buy-It-Now" price and drop 10% per week until it sells. A seller putting an item up on auction with a low start is truly believing in "the market" finding its own proper level in a matter of dozens of hours.
Personally, when I prepare to sell something, I go to the "Sold Listings" section on ebay and see what those items have been going for recently - if that information is available. From there, if I need money and want to sell quick, I might go 10%-30% below the "going rate". If I have a nice piece and some time, I might go 10%-30% above recent sales and see if someone bites.

(I know this has been discussed) To me, Deskthority is one of the last places I scrape when "hunting" for keyboards, chances are if someone has posted a keyboard here, I've seen it already - sometimes, it will be a while before this page gets a useful update. You may want to consider joining Deskthority Club and only sharing deals there; I know some longtime DT members discussed this but I'm not sure what the outcome of that was.

On the, "Seller won't remove a keycap" thought...
You guys are thinking like keyboard enthusiasts. Most people don't know that key caps are removable. The seller is a vintage computer seller; I have followed him for some time and have purchased a thing or two from him. His only exposure to a key cap is probably one that has broken off as was the case for me in the not too distant past. When someone suggests that he remove a key cap, the first thing a seller like him will say is "No". Not because he doesn't want to tell what kind of switch is underneath but he thinks there is a good chance he'll break off a key and now what he was trying to sell has to be cancelled and re-listed now as broken.
I understand completely why any unexperienced seller will not remove a key cap. Up until about two years ago, I didn't know you could take a key cap off either

No no, I didn't mean I would spam the hell out of members! That would annoy me too. I'm just saying, if there's a particular board I KNOW someone has been wanting for some time - for example, all of the posts in the 'Fab 5 keyboards' contest was a big one and most people mentioned their dream boards there. If there are just some generally interesting boards or cool looking things I want more info on, I would likely still post them here or in the other thread about identifying keyboards
*I thought the club was an invite only thing, or required a certain amount of time to attain?

It almost certainly won't be, because from what we've seen the KB-101A went to white before the 6011 did, but as I mentioned before it's not 100% out of the question. Massively against betting odds though. Still, they'll be very early whites, and that goes a fair way.

That's kinda why I think that the b***a account is a proxy service - I mean, if it were a collector with that much experience, why would they always crush bids at sky-high amounts for just any keyboards? They would likely know better and not take the risk on a board like this, even if they do have deep pockets. Or maybe they are really a collector of different types of boards and are less concerned about the switches they contain.
BTW, is anyone interested in a BIN $29.95 RT-101+? It's quite yellowed, but looks to be in decent shape otherwise.

it's a PC-98, which was very popular in Japan for gaming in the 80's. I'd hardly call it weird, in fact I think it would be pretty cool to have.
