This. Until Krutmob or 7bit has an email in hand from Melissa saying we are for sure fully paid, I have to assume there is still money owed.

When I gave them a list of what has been paid and what is to be paid, the only amount missing was those $3700 from mashby, which have been covered by the $2500 payment. With the $3700, the grab bags and part of shipping costs are covered. Until they have finished the keys, we have the remaining amount to pay for shipping to me. The real issue is the low number of orders from EU people.

That August production slot is the only good news we've had in six months. I'm not ready to celebrate just yet though. Once bitten, twice shy and all that...

We are paid up. I will get the confirmation from SP next week.

I've asked (around 30 March 2017) and got this answer: The January 20th invoices where replaced by new ones from March with higher amounts. The original idea was to pay up for produciton of 3 of the 4 remaining colors, but SP wanted everything, so these 4 invoices had not been paid.
In the meantime, SL89 paid the March 15th invoice and krutmob paid $2500 to cover the missing amount from mashby's invoice. The $26,847.45 is the sum of all those unpaid invoices (4 of which had been replaced by, at that moment, already paid ones)!
Unless the prices have been raised, or SP finds out some other invoice has not been paid, we are paid up for production, grab bag keys and shipping costs. It remains about $10,000 for import tax. There are keys worth $25,000 for sale, so this should be doable.

It is interesting to see the cost breakdown.

So basically SP has been paid enough to produce everything, but until the import tax is paid, they can't send the keycaps to you, is that right? Which means we have until September to come up with the $10k needed to cover the import tax, otherwise all those keycaps just sit in SP's warehouse in WA, right?

Really great to see the full cost breakdown, 7bit. Thanks for posting that. I was unaware of how huge the import tax is! I'm really glad we are moving along now.

In light of the high import taxes, I wonder if there is anyway to have a US proxy get the keys first, and then ship them to NA based buyers before sending the remaining over to Germany in order to reduce costs for everyone. Just a thought.

If you think 7bit would ever entrust the sorting and packing to anyone else, then you don't know him very well.

Besides, the cost of the import taxes have already been figured into the prices we all paid. I don't think 7bit would want to issue partial refunds to everyone for that.

Isnt that the price it will cost to get the keys from the german customs? Or like here, they just send the stuff and a week after there is an invoice for the tax. I can`t see how this has anything to do with SP?

According to 7bit's breakdown, yes, we do. Without it the keycaps will remain stuck in German customs or something (I don't precisely know how a failure to pay "import taxes" affects this logistically, to be perfectly honest).

I'm really sorry to sound like a broken record, but I was just wondering when I can expect shipping. I fixed my stupid mistake of not entering SHIPNOW, and corrected a partially missing address, so I just wanted to know how long it usually takes for leftover caps to ship. Thanks.
