Allllrighty then after spending a while clicking I think I have an order...

Blacks > Clears > Reds and Ghetto Red > Browns > Clears with Brown spring > Greens > Blues

I really didn't like clicky I could see that getting right on my nerves really quickly.
Now I thought I'd like tactile but the I found that the clears with brown spring had too little resistance and the tactile bump felt huge... the browns didn't feel like much of a bump at-all and very little resistance. Now the Clears definitely my favourite tactile switch, a decent amount of resistance and good tactile ratio.
The linear switches well the ghetto reds and reds where too close to get a favourite, but maybe the Ghetto I think nudges ahead, but the blacks I think are the winner.

I seem to like the higher resistance over the others because when I game I get quite excitable and bottoming out is just going to happen and that extra resistance pads that a bit, also I have a feeling that the tactile would feel a bit jarring.

So end of the ramble there we have it, blacks for gaming and I'm going to have to hunt down come clears for typing :)
Shall send them on tomorrow (Sat 23rd)

I'm glad boards moving again and interesting insight Wipster :)

My apple keyboard finally died on me (started out as one key at a time but it all gave out after a week). So I had to order a new keyboard and done so by getting a Filco Ninja Majestouch2 with brown switches from the KeyboardCo. I love it. I thought no keyboard would be easier to press than my Apple Scissor Switch keyboard, I was wrong I love love brown switches so far and the clackty (more of thud sound, when they bottom out) sound it makes.

Also, I maybe going away for a bit and going to move as well. So I am not in a hurry, I dont mind being on the ast of the list.

I will let you guys know if I am unable to accept mails.

Yeahaw ... I have got the PCB's :)

After a short test I think my favorite lists will be:
- Reds
- Ghetto Reds
- Browns
- Blues
- Clears with brown springs
- Blacks
- Clears & greens

You can see I prefer the switches with a light actuation. Too bad that actually no MX red keyboard with german layout is available. Maybe I will try a Noppoo Choc Mini but only a 105 caps keyboard will fits my requirements perfectly.

Update: I received a PM with the address form the next person (artee) :)

The PCB's are on the way to artee.

Special thanks to CeeSA for this great opportunity of testing the different switches.

that's great news! did the favorite list changed after some longer testing or did it remain the same?

Posted: 30 Jul 2011, 13:16

No change and I definitly prefer the "light" switches (red and brown) and I'm looking forward for the release of the Ducky 9008 Shine (hopefully with reds).

I just received the PCBs! I already have a G80-3000 keyboard with blue switches and Filco 10keyless with brown switches and I like the G80-3000 more because it is more tactile.

I was especially curious for the black and clear switches, because I find browns to be too light so reds are out of the question too.

And it seems to me that blacks and also clears are both too heavy for me... So I will stick with my G80-3000, because I not only like the tactility, but also the SOUND :-)

What surprised me was the feeling of clears with brown spring...
I will try more the switches and send it to BMASTER on Thursday.

Thanks a lot CeeSA for the opportunity to try the Cherry MX rainbow! :-)
