Awesome!! I was not interested in a RGB keyboard but with BT 4.0, but definitely following this now. (Not that I wasn't already subscribed, but still..)

Very interested in this, especially if it's available in Europe.

What kind of case will it have?

still working on the case, we probably need to use acrylic for the sides for better BT reception.

The keyboard will be a full RGB keyboard with BT4.0 add-on module.
Awesome! Definitely going to hold out for this to be my first Alps (Matias) board.

Will it be a layered case with metal top and bottom plate and an acrylic middle piece?

we could do a polycarb tray with an alu plate, but we are still working on that

I'll keep you posted!
I know they won't be super secret anymore (just plain secret :) ), but any hints on those new switches? Tactile, clicky, linear, springs, leaf springs, domes, scissors...?

Also, with the switch variety support, wouldn't it be awesome to have switch hot-swapping (à la Smart 68) via sockets on the PCB, without the need for soldering? I know it is probably a stretch, but... one can hope/dream! :)

Very excited for this project. I'm looking for a ~60% Bluetooth enabled board with TMK firmware for a long time.

I don't think that would be possible :P

The weirdo Cherry ML clones! I guess you're getting caps made too then? :D

This is extremely exciting, especially the trackpoint. Is it possible to make the trackpoint long enough so it works with SA keycaps? This is my main beef with the Yoda.

That's so exciting. I can't wait. Nice one Matt3o :)

Hi,

Super excited about this, especially the Bluetooth 4.0 =).

Are there any updates on this?

Ready to pay for this!

Regards,
Victor

yes, I have found the controller and bluetooth module. I just have to find the time to assemble the whole thing :)

I'm working on the elf-board right now, so it might take some time.

Awesome stuff! So glad to hear the Bluetooth is proceeding along.

I know you said $200 was a psychological price point - just to let you know, I for one am definitely willing to pay $200 (or even a tad more) per keyboard, and I'd get two (one for work and home).

Also - I may be able to organise a group buy for my workplace, if that helps at all - will PM you.

I'm using a Minila Air at the moment - definitely like having arrow keys, and it's a compact layout, but I've always found the Bluetooth super-flakey on these, and the plastic case feels cheap.

Elf-board - wait, as in the wooden keyboard here?

Interesting....

Split space sounds good!
but 3u/3. 5u space - where to get caps? would be optiona for 2u/2. 25/2. 75u possible?

I'd go for 2.75 / 1.25 / 2.25 or the other way around 2.25 / 1.25 / 2.75 so it's easy to source and you get a FN in the middle of the spacebar which rocks because you can do all the shortcuts with your left hand and keep the right on the mouse.

@matt3o - Hope you had a good Christmas break!

Do you think you'll have any time to work on it this coming year?? (2017).

I'm still 100% committed, unfortunately life tends to fuck up all my "toy projects" time :)

Anyway I already have the full controller+charger+bluetooth stack. I just have to make some tests. I now also have a 3D printer that hopefully will help with prototyping the case.

The project is not forgotten, just on queue :)

Glad to hear that. Still really looking forward to this project! :)
