I'm pretty sure Satan would enjoy handing these out for Christmas:

The anguish of frustrated users would be music to his ears.

Alright I'm going to join.
Despite reading everybody's discussion about keeping expectations reasonable and then one downing eachother, I'm still intimidated as hell to not disappoint someone. Well, maybe I'll get lucky and not be paired up with someone who already has everything.

It's not your fault if they already have it. It's only your fault if the gift is objectively crap. Like whatever it is Andy has in store…

My idea is not crap, its good ! But i think i will put that in the surprise box and get something different , it all depends where you live.

if your name appears twice in the list, you get two gifts?

Posted: 28 Oct 2015, 12:36
by Muirium
Sure. But you must give two, too!

I'd consider it too, but the Surprise Box is coming my way soon as well. Don't want to have to bail to the gift of last resort…

Well good, because you're the only person I know for sure already has what I plan on giving.

Things I have that most DTers don't. A partial list:
Kishsaver
Beamspring(s)
NIB SSK
A recent head injury
This ought to be good!

by JanitorJoe
Woah, calm down there. I can guarantee it won't be 3/4 of those things.

Anyone who wants the first three off me can expect the fourth!

Caused with one of the first three?

Note to self: Don't store your heaviest keyboards on the top shelf.

sign me up as well if I'm not too late

Consider yourselves in, Madhias and Ray. 7bit's running this, but I'll make sure you're included.

If it is not too late, please sign me up as well!
I have been holding off because I find it difficult to pick out what to give. Not too cheap and small, and not too expensive either.

Picking the gift is the tricky part indeed. Unlike the Surprise Box (12 kilos of insanity on its way to me as I write!) you can't see what you're getting first. It's enough to make John Nash scream! Uh, with delight!
Looking at the OP, I think you're still good to join today. 7bit worded it ambiguously. I reckon we can squeeze in a few late entries. We'll close signups right before he runs his Perl script to match us all up.

12kg?!? There's supposed to be a hard limit of 2kg... I'm not sure I can commit to sending that overseas from the UK, it might bankrupt me!
Posted: 01 Nov 2015, 13:52
by photekq
I reckon 12kg through Parcelforce would cost about a grand

Posted: 01 Nov 2015, 13:59
by Muirium
Yeah, I had to laugh when Madhias told me how much the parcel he just sent me now weighs! He's not to blame, he says. But damn, it'll cost us more than the 17 Euros or whatever he said Austria Post charged him for shipping to Scotland.
Since people have clearly broken the rules entirely, I'll see about splitting the parcel up. There are full keyboards in there. They just might wind up in Santa's hands instead of yours! I'll see what winds up on my doorstep and talk it over with Mr. Interface.

Did HAL put a couple of beamsprings in there?!

I hope so! That'd make things much easier. Yoink!
