The seller is clueless. He has no idea that the reserve is what killed the bidding on his auction. That and a total lack of effort.

What kind of switches does it even have? I'm guessing MX Clears. In any case, not worth it!

At that price, I should be charging admission to find out

The "gleam" is because of the extra sparkle at this cost. You can't hear this but harps play in the background whenever you take a key cap off

I've seen some ridiculous sales in this thread but this one tops them all. W T F ?

1987, you can tell that's an American seller

The banana edition DC-2014 has been relisted after having been sold! Ohaimark, you can breathe a sigh of relief, since it truly did not sell for more than your DC-3014.

This seems to be evidence toward some trolls jacking up the prices. The same trolls also jacked up the price on that ISO NIB blue Alps board sold by that guy in Greece, and that has been relisted too... Except now he demands $590 for it.
I wonder if we'll be seeing the Texas Instruments KB101A again in the future then.

I thought maybe it was plausible considering the banana edition is also flashy logo edition. I kind of wished it were true, because now I can't make big bux off of my DC-2014

Which one did you pick up? Haha. It must've been recent!

So many recent auctions have been so dodgy... It doesn't surprise me that the $580 alps board was relisted; I couldn't believe that anyone would pay such an absurd amount.

So ... I'm not sure I get it. Let's say the guy selling that DC-2014 had a friend that bought it for the $475 it originally "sold" for. If that were true, they'd just be jacking up the prices in order to turn around and sell it for more money? It doesn't make much sense; everyone here recognizes that same old yellowed thing. What am I missing?

I'm the person that listed the Focus 2001 that "sold" for $360 in an eBay auction. I hope you're still not bitter about not getting it for $75, but I simply was not willing to stop the auction after a bid was placed. Bad communication timing. I should have just told you no from the beginning like you said. Sorry!
I've been lurking in this thread (and the similar one on GH) since before I listed that keyboard and the various comments about that auction have been amusing.
I say that the keyboard "sold" for $360 because I still have it. Two different troll bidders got the price up to $360. The troll that "won" the auction registered the eBay account (with a US ZIP code of 90001) on February 18, the day the auction ended. The other troll account (also 90001) registered the account on December 24, 2015. Both had zero feedback.
I quickly learned my lesson about eBay auctions for keyboards and have since listed everything as buy-it-now with great success.
I'll probably list the Focus again in the very near future as BIN at a reasonable price. If someone buys it, great! If not, I'll probably just wind up using the switches to build a Clueboard.

What is the point of troll bids??

I can think of two reasons. The first is that they're people who have similar keyboards to sell and want to drive prices up. The second is they take pleasure in spoiling an auction.

Simple fix then. Don't allow anyone with less than, say, 3 feedback bid on an auction. It's easy enough to get 3 feedbacks anyways, but it'll cut the trolls off since they won't be able to buy without buying other stuff first.

I may not make as much money in the long run, but I'm done with the auction format. Buy it now with immediate payment via PayPal is what I've used to sell 9 keyboards in the last month.
