I was seconds late on that one. Sold by the time I clicked on it.

Yeah see, I might get lucky myself, but I do miss some good ones like the Dell, haha. I thought my AT101 with PBT caps for $50 was a good deal, but this one went for even lower, had an incredibly low serial #, and was a curiosity in the AT101 world with doubleshot caps; just something remarkable in general beyond being an AT101. If the Japanese one was anything to go off of, it should have pine SKCM Black Alps, but that's just speculation.
There were a few more typical AT101s (salmon alps, old logo, pbt caps) before it that went for good prices too.

Now here's a weird one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-ALPS-Gl ... 1408435021
Alps branded keyboard with a touchpad, split space bar, BAE, and Apple-style keycaps. Looks like White Damped for switches? Low serial number too.
It's filthy and ADB, otherwise I would've bought it.

I put an offer in this morning. I'll post pics if I get it.

I have one of the Glidepoint keypads, they are interesting but nothing too exciting.

What switches do they use? I contacted Alps but they didn't know.

I have one too but it was still in the package and didn't want to open it up. I will check once I get the Alps keyboard (offer was accepted).

I know there were systems that did only upper case letters, but a "lower case" key? Never seen that.

Me neither, but I guess it's probably effectively the same thing as the famous "blue switch" on old
IBM 3178 terminal keyboards. Commodore home computers like the C64 (before the Amiga) had something similar.
There were basically two modes that you could switch to: one that had lower and upper case characters and one that had only uppercase characters.
On a Commodore 64, you would toggle betwen them with the C=-key plus Shift.

So it is a lock key essentially. Well, a mode switching key.
That makes more sense than the inverse shift I was thinking of

The Apple II (what this is a clone of) was famous for not having lower case. The other thing the early Apple II's was famous for was having a power light that looked like a key but was stationary. I believe the lower case 'key' is just a stationary light that is highlighting the fact that this clone had lower case functionality and 'lower case' was on. There were a few lower case mods for Apple II's.
So, that's either not a Lower Case key but just a light or it is a reverse Caps Locks key..

I get my fair share of deals too. What a buzzkill though when someone else gets one.
On a related note, the Canadian dollar is starting to make a comeback. Moar keyboards!

I've had an offer pending with the same seller (different keyboard) for over a day. I guess he doesn't like it.

Since I had the
"Alps-inator", I had to have another branded Alps keyboard. There don't seem to be too many Alps branded keyboards.

Alps SKFS. I'm thinking it was originally designed to be used with the AAK.

Haha, yeah, but it just makes me reflect a bit more on my nice finds and, well you know...
I'm grateful.
Hey, hey guys...
Looks like March is the Month of the Leading Edge DC-2014:

That one even has the protective label plastic on it still... The banananess is a bit of a turn-off, though.

Yeah, especially compared to its pretty mint brother that sold a while back:

With the prices lately, everyone is checking their inventory, basements, closets and outhouses.

That must be it. 3-4 years ago it was months between LE2014s turning up on ebay, but they only sold in the $35-$60 range when they did.
But you gotta love that 9x spacebar!

Oh man, today's my lucky day, snagged this just now!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-IBM-Mod ... SwMORW62oF
Can't believe there's been two in a week at a really sweet price, glad I managed to get one of them.

Kickass emdude! I never really cared for industrials but you can't say no to that sleek logo!
I wonder if the caps are any different than a regular model M.

From photos, I'd think they'd be the same as those of any old Model M. But I'll see once I get it. Can't wait!

It was this one:

Whoever held back from bidding after my post, thank you! It's a black German Model M2 in fully working condition. After getting one for Secret Santa in ANSI layout (thanks btw, I still have to post a photo) I just had to get one in German layout and took the gamble.
Haven't testet the PS/1 yet, but it will most probably put to good use as well.
