Hi all! I was thinking of using a cable from another keyboard that looks great and ends with the connector on the right in the pic under. To use it on the keyboard i want i need to swap the connector to be like the one on the left. Do you know where can i buy a connector like that?
Here's the image:
Also what do you guys use to clean pcb's from flux (brownish color thing that appears after desoldering) .
Just bend the "hooks" in on the connectors, pull off the plastic, bend open the metal tips, swap them, bend everything back and put the plastic back on.
Hi there! So you say to bend the hooks in the outside direction right? still i was wondering if i could buy the coneector instead of just swapping them.
Hi xbb. Thanks for the reply. What kind of brush do you use? Also regarding wipes, what kind of tissue is it more adequade?
i'll try to post pictures of the pcb in question.
a brush with short and stiff hair (like this) and kimwipes (here).
I'm not very experienced. With the brush only much of the flux sticks to the brush and the board becomes sticky unless I use also the wipes.
Well so i' going to do this week and i was wondering if a new toothbrush would do the same. Already got the isopropyl alchool too. Do i just imerge the tooth in the alchool and rub in the pcb?
Man just tryed using a toothbrush but it's very hard to remove this. Also the alcohool also seems to leave stains if you don't use anything to absorve it :S Seems like oxide stains? How do i clean this ?
The important thing is not so much how to apply the alcohol, but how to remove it (or at least remove the dirt which is now dissolved in it) before it evaporates.
For a PCB with switches on it,I would suggest pipe cleaners:
