I am incredibly desperate. Yes, I know about the one on eBay, and no, I cannot afford it. I have many rare and sought after IBM, Cherry, and Alps keyboards and would be willing to trade any combination of them for an Unsaver in any shape. This is my theoretical endgame folks, I am willing to do anything!

Be patient, it took me years to get one. And with prices going to stratospheric levels, my guess is that most sellers are looking for cash.

Sorry if this isn't actually true, but doesn't Ellipse sell one on his website? https://www.modelfkeyboards.com/product ... -keyboard/

I'm a broke student, so paying direct cash would be very not great for my financial future. I could theoretically sell a bunch of rare boards I have to get the money to buy one, but even then it's not a guarantee, and I don't like selling at the absurd "market price" that most people expect nowadays.

$1200 with days more to go. Money!thefarside wrote: 02 Mar 2022, 22:45 Model F Unsaver going for big money:

Why do people prefer them to regular F120? The beast with All The Keys.
This is coming from an SSK essentialist. I get why less is more! But an Unsaver is a whole LOT of less. It doesn’t hit the space saving desirability spot for me at all.
So what is it about them?

I prefer full size so I’d always choose a F120 or F107 over this, but I’m guessing the value is in the rarity and unique smaller size?

My pre-sale estimate is $2,450.

I think they are an interesting variation and would certainly welcome one into my collection if the prices were more reasonable but I already have enough Model M's, Model F's, etc. that I am pretty satisfied. I really don't use a numpad much so the extra length of a full size board like an F122 or F107 is wasted on me and having the top row of function keys of an F122 in a smaller form factor would be perfect.

I want one because I lack desk space, I never use my numpad, and because I like how it looks. I've already got myself an FSSK in an endgame configuration, but it just doesn't scratch the itch.

The downside is that the F122 and F104 are too heavy for their own good. The plastic is now brittle and it's not uncommon for cracks to appear in the case or feet, especially due to eBay sellers that have a hard enough time shipping nearly indestructible Model M's because packing material is so expensive.headphone_jack wrote: 03 Mar 2022, 02:15 I want one because I lack desk space, I never use my numpad, and because I like how it looks. I know all of these things, and yet here I am making a WTB anyway. I'm willing to take the risk. Hell, not like my 122 has fared well, and I still love that board to bits.

Now, now, oligarchs, we know things are tense, but Impulse shopping is not the way to deal with it.

It is reasonable for a board this rare.

Repros will never match the true power of the real thing. They can come close but comparing a real kishsaver to the eclipse repro they are very much different.wobbled wrote: 03 Mar 2022, 00:47 Better off getting a Model F repro. Such a shame that this board will probably end up as a collectors piece.
The unsaver is all powerful as the keyboard gods have foreseen
