Hey, here is some pictures of the detachable cable mod, which I made to IBM model F 122 key with soarares converter while back.
Also as you can see, I modified the numpad layout to make use of those unused keys, making this 122 key to 124 key model F.

Thanks for the tip. I thought it would insulate the teensy board and prevent it from shorting when making contact with the metal body of the keyboard

I prefer to retain the original coil cable and use an external soarer converter like this one. it has locking cap/numlock/sclock leds
