Hello!

I'm looking to buy 100x blue Alps or a blue Alps keyboard.

I know this switch can be quite rare, but it can't hurt to try my luck!

Cheers :)

EDIT: bought

Hi,
I have recently bought an Alps Blue keyboard (Monterey K101 - 1987) and an Alps White keyboard (Monterey K102 - 1989). The K101 is in an used, but still very good, condition. The K102 is in pristine condition, barely used, almost new.

My two cents: you shouldn't get obsessed with the color of the Alps switches. The Alps White in pristine condition is little bit smoother than the used Alps Blue.

@cli: I agree with your assessment of the relative merits of various types of Alps switches. SKCM white (pine) switches in excellent condition and in a good chassis provide a superb typing experience.

It can also be fun and rewarding to make hybrid Alps switches. This is relatively easy to do, because Alps switches can be opened without desoldering. One of my best keyboards is a Northgate Omnikey 101 with SKCM white (bamboo) switches. I replaced the tops, springs, and sliders with the corresponding parts from SKCM orange Alps. The resulting white-orange Alps switches feel and sound great. I prefer this keyboard to others that I own that have SKCM blue Alps switches.

@Hypersphere
I was surprised that the white Alps did better than the blue Alps. The K102 is almost the same as the K101 except for the electronics inside, so we are not comparing apples with oranges.

Would be fun to experiment with white-orange Alps. Let's see if I can find a classic Apple keyboard in nice condition.

Maybe you're right. The sound on chyros videos though... It fills my heart :)

Yeah,
I know. :evilgeek: He is the cause of all our Alps hoarding and grieve when we lost a bidding.
