So I put some thick lube on my HHKB (had thin on it before) and I absolutely hate it. I wiped it off several times but I can still feel a tiny bit of the lube on the slider and I can't stand it.
Has anyone here tried cleaning their HHKB by submerging the top case under warm water and mild dish soap? I was considering denture tabs as well but those might be too abrasive and may damage the sliders. I did consider ultrasonic cleaning but my cleaner is not big enough to fit an HHKB top.
Would appreciate any input on this! I spent a year and a half breaking in this HHKB and desperately want it back the way it was before the lube. I even considered buying another TypeS and starting over, but you can't just replace 1.5 years of breaking in :'(

You might be able to find a local industrial place that has an ultrasonic bath. I doubt they'd charge you more than $20 to use it for a few minutes.

When I first see the title of this thread:

If it is degreasing, trying so good degreasing agents that do no harm to ABS (e.g. alcohol / ethanol I guess?) and a few packs of swabs and some patience.
Good luck!
