You just wait until Comic Sans keycaps show up...flowerlandfilms wrote: True, but they made us use shitty macs all through school from Elementary school in Florida all the way through to High School in Australia, that shitty Italic font has haunted me my whole life and now it reminds me of shit computers I had to use at school when I had a perfectly good PC at home. It makes me shake with rage.

Australians tell me they can pick it, but I don't hear it any more, it must be the occasional Hard R i'm doing. As soon as I talk to an American I go back to full semi-southern East Coast though. I did standup in D.C. about 6 months ago and they were all chanting for me to use my Australian accent, but in Aus they treat American accents with suspicion, it's quite a xenophobic place, which Hugh Jackman never mentions when he's doing the talk shows.

I'm now in the process of "de-quieting" my Matias Quiet Clicks, so I can put them back on and test the board.
I have done these three.

These switches feel amazing!
Time for the virgin type:
(As follows typed on the new keyboard)
Modding a keyboard you'll work up a thirst,
But testing it out is the thing you'll do first,
It isn't the look, or the skill of the hack,
It's the way that the switches go Clickety-Clack.

In 10 days or so I will be receiving the Silicon Graphics 32 key programmable button box as a companion board for this.
So i'll have to decide what to do with that.
To backlight it in the same way would be cool, but that will depend on what switches it takes, which is currently a question mark.

. The mod looks really good, maybe a bit too bright for my taste, but still very cool
The supplementary Silicon Graphics board has reached Hawaii, damn Fedex is slow.

Right. It's "advanced-customized" at this point already.

Yes I hope so too. Really.

I know it's been quite awhile, but I've had some medical issues this past year or so.
Anyway this is a quick update to let people know I got rid of those Cherry Maxkeys caps with adapters.
I am now using a full-ish set of dark smoked transparent Alps keycaps.
Turns out they are out there if you know where to look.
(two aren't native Alps, try and spot them)
More to come soon.

Backslash looks very keen indeed! Down boy.
I’m guessing these caps are Apple ones, from one of those dark keyed transparent shelled USB keyboards of theirs, circa 2000, or a Mac targeted clone. The legends say as much.

Right you are, he is the last one still on an MX adapter.
Enter beneath him is also on an adapter, of my design, which allows for mx keys on Alps stems without the height increase.
Although it does require some destruction to the Cherry cap mount.
It's in prototype at the moment but it works really well, planning to share it once I get my 3D Printer.
And yewp, I got these off the Sanwa Apple clone board, and so once again I'm stuck with that horrible font.
Although to make up for it somewhat, these have cool Japanese legends aswell.
There are two other keycap sets I'm trying to find which will help me on the font issue.
