Maybe you're just new here and don't understand the etiquette here. Stop spamming new threads here, you're at almost one thread every two days! You're only here a month and already created twice the amount of topics lot_lizard created.

If you can't resist the urge to show off your keyboards, stop making new threads every time you take a few pics. Instead make a thread like the one I linked above and add your new pictures to it when you take new ones. This isn't snapchat or reddit ...

The only post you made that was worth sharing as the blue alps Model M and seebart was kind enough to point out this had been posted before. First WhiteFox or a new kind of Nixdorf keyboard are still something I would create a thread for.

I don't understand what you are expecting here. You come here with a condescending attitude, post threads like we're on reddit and insult people when they criticise your behaviour. Are you trying to prove that this is hostile community by trying to misbehave to the point where you get banned?

Each community has some kind of etiquette and standards. I tried my best in the previous post to explain why your thread posting is considered excessive here and what's the proper way to get some appreciation for your photos. You've gone straight to a very hostile reaction again instead of taking the advice and trying to get along with people here. You're not giving me the impression you want to participate here, you came here for something we are obviously not giving you (the amount of appreciation you were looking for) and you are now letting out your anger and frustration about this.

There is another community that has dedicated threads for EVERY single kind of keyboard where there is a much larger audience for keyboard pictures. Maybe try this place, I just feel like you will be getting what you need there.

For rather common keyboards it would be best if you post photos of them in one of the dedicated threads, as Wodan said. Rarer or undocumented keyboard (types) can go into their own thread and even better also into the wiki. Original model Ms don't have these on their barrel frames. The barrel frames are known to crack horizontally along those lines (happened to me only when screw-modding and tightening one portion too much), so this may be a measure against that. Model Fs have metal top plates without barrels so they are completely different.

I'm going to have to agree with them, Nobody. Deskthority is more about finding new interesting things and digging into the technical stuff. As well as documentation, rather than showing off.

And we have threads for this kind of stuff, Like Alps Appreciation and Identify the Keyboard Thread. You are starting to become a bit of a spammer, sorry to say.

Like I get it, you like keyboards, we all do but you don't have to be a dick about it. Like for example as a response to someone saying about your Focus FK-747 that "keep in mind that Alps suck with dirt, and this board has seen plenty." Which is very true mind you, your response to that is to call him not a "true" enthusiast and use my Taobao Blues as an example. Those took forever to clean and get right. I would take a cleaner set over those when I got them anyday of the week.

And this thread, after simple constructive criticism about etiquette and such, you freak out and insult people, people who have contributed a lot to this hobby. All they want to do is help you, your new here and people make mistakes, and that's fine but don't take it personally man. It is their business since its on our forum. You just can't come onto our forum and talk shit to people like you own it.

All I will say is this: so many types of keyboard have a more interesting story to tell than we may believe, and within the seemingly innocuous photos that people post are the pieces of this story. It does mean however that such photo sets need to be as detailed as possible (rear label, IC date codes, PCB inscriptions etc) so that the newly-discovered nuggets can be placed into the timeline.

Quite often, the discoveries aren't made by someone deliberately documenting their find, but by another person seeing more into things posted by people unaware of what they've found.

With the wiki, there may only be one example photographed per model, and that's often far from enough of what's needed to uncover the secrets. Once the secrets are uncovered, however, specific subsets of photos can be added to the wiki to illustrate the finds.

About the ridges on keyboard, it seems it's supposed to divert the water flow if liquid splashed into the keyboard by accident; apparently, somebody from Unicomp wanted to do something to improve the M, but sadly backfired, kind of "guild the lily"...in Chinese we have this saying " if it's a snake you are drawing, then no need to draw feet for it"

I think I can answer your two problems:
#1 You never admit your own flaws. Sometimes I lose my temper and don't tone down my rudeness when I really should but I can readily admit that. So you're not honest with yourself and use 'projection' to deflect your issues on others--your very first sentence radiates that problem.
#2 What you're posting is rather common / known information. While it can be exciting for newcomers who just found out about buckling springs to go wild, this doesn't warrant thread after thread, and in this case dedicated to a typical terminal Unicomp Model M; unless it had unique content and as others have said, a fitting title. A more appropriate post would be like how your responded to the SSK club rather than creating a dedicated thread to one typical SSK.

All of this especially grinds on the nerves of those who have been dealing with buckling spring keyboards for years. Something like a 60% 4704, unsaver or industrial SSKs are a lot more interesting (at the very least) than a boring typical unicomp Model M terminal. In my opinion. A 1U winkey from unicomp is not going to impress most of us, and in fact I prefer them omitted. IBM never manufactured winkeys for Model Ms, this was a unicomp thing.

Wodan called me a clown that day, should I get pissed off like 7 years old boy? If so,how would you manage to survive in real world in which much severer and fiercer confrontations, conflicts sometimes even threat is not avoidable...I can't say on behafe of you guys, but I am not a guy who blows his top under this sort of situation...you can't do anything you like if you are in a bad mood. Somebody may accuse me of being "condecending" again I guess.

That's why I said "unless it had unique content". Typically a post in the pictures thread should start out with something interesting. Or at least have textual content surrounding it to make it interesting. Analyze your initial post.

Its not your a full blown 'spammer' but Deskthority isnt the kind of place for lots of pictures and stuff. /r/mk and Geekhack (a bit) would be a better alternative. Deskthority isn't a place for a bunch of arguing either. Debate and disagreement is fine, but do we really need to come down to insulting people over diffrent opinions on keyboards of all things?
