Hello all,

I'm running a group buy over on /r/mechmarket and someone suggested I put the information here too. I'm sorry I don't spend enough time over here, but I still think your group buys are the best. Anyway, on to my group buy:

Here are pictures of the very first run!

Here is the form you fill out if you want one, or two, or three!

These cases include:

1. The case itself. Just the bottom part, no plate is included.
2. Six rubber feet.
3. Six M2 screws.

The case itself has almost the exact dimensions as the rev 4 milled aluminum case from the last drop. There is also room for a teensy and handwiring as well. The only differences between the one pictured above and the ones I'm selling are the finish, the usb hole, and the reset hole.

Finishes

Clear: The clear finished cases will be vapor polished by a shop in Anaheim, CA. The resulting cases will be optically clear. I don't have an example picture because I don't want to have them tool up for one or two cases, but they've been doing vapor polishing for Boeing for 5 years, so they're pretty pretty, pretty good at it.

Frosted: The frosted finish will be much cleaner than my 20 minute sanding job in the pictures above. I've got a sand blaster in San Diego that I need to go pick up sometime next week. I'll try a couple different grits before settling on the one that diffuses light best.

USB and Reset Holes Unfortunately, the shop closed before I could run the prototype cases through to cut their reset holes and usb holes, so I used a dremel tool to cut the usb hole for pictures. The milled hole will obviously be of a much higher quality than my manual job.

RGB LED Light Kits I am now offering RGB light kits for $6 each! They will include all the materials to get your planck to look like the one pictured. Here are the details:

2x strips of 6 WS2812B RGB LEDs
3x end striped 24AWG wires in white, black, and blue of length 5 inches.
3x end striped 24AWG wires in white, black, and blue of length 3 inches.

I will also put together a youtube video in the coming weeks detailing how and where to connect the leds as well as what changes need to be made to your qmk configs.

Time Frame
I will keep the form open until August 31st. There will be two batches.

Orders billed and payed for by August 24th: These will be Shipped by September 14th

Orders billed and payed for by August 31st: These will be Shipped by September 21st

Feel free to ask any questions you might have in this thread.

Price
Currently, the price is $45 for either finish, including shipping to CONUS. If you need the case shipped internationally, just fill out the form like normal and I'll include the shipping difference in the invoice. If, by some miracle I receive over 200 orders I will be able to renegotiate my materials costs and will make sure everyone gets a discount or partial refund.

International Shipping
International shipping is $25 per order of up to 4 cases (that's as many as I can stuff nicely into a flat rate envelope). The rgb leds will likely ship separately as the distributer turn around time is an unknown so shipping is included in the kit cost. I will absolutely bundle where possible.

Update (8.31.2016)
This group buy closes at end of day today. Thanks for participating!

Ordered a case.

I'd love an Atomic case, too, though I suspect there aren't quite as many Atomic users to warrant a group buy like this. I managed to get a B stock case from the olkb store when I ordered my atomic PCB and plate, but it isn't exactly what I want for a case.

Thanks for this GB!

Also, nice shot w/the Rubik's Cube in the background!

Hey, thanks! This is my first group buy so I can't make any promises, but if it goes well the goal is to do one case a month.

I am still patiently waiting on group buys from 2014 to materialize, so I am happy to wait an extra few months for a case like this. The more case and plate options that exist, the better, especially for these PCBs.

Good luck with your first GB!

Hello all, from the volume that I've got so far I am able to get a bit of a discount on the material costs, so I've decided to pass that discount on. If you've been invoiced you'll be receiving a partial refund of $5 for each case you ordered. If you haven't been invoiced then the the price will be $45 per case to reflect the change! Thanks for your interest!

Yay!

Thanks again for running this GB. (Atomic case, atomic case, atomic case...)
