Are these cases any different to the very similar Chinese ones to be found on eg. AliExpress? Wondering if they've got superior build quality or something similar.

The look exactly the same to me, I just assumed that ukkeycaps imports products from China as the plates, cases, springs, and switch testers all look like the ones you can readily get on Taobao. The prices are not bad though, considering the added costs of importing them directly from China yourself, and the lack of customer support as well.

Ah, okay. I've heard mixed reviews of direct-from-China keyboard parts so I was moreso just hoping to hear that these just looked similar by coincidence. Thanks for the info, Stabilized.

I actually have one of these cases (if it is the same as the one sold in China), I would recommend it as it's very good for the price. The anodised finish is good and so is the milling.
Out of interest what bad things have you heard?

A few things in my thread asking about Hammer clones, a few bits of word of mouth, etc. Mostly the same things, eg:
hKing wrote: I can only warn anyone buying a cheap (around 100USD, more or less) case from places like TaoBao: You get what you pay for!

I bought two cases in matte black (a "standard"-aluminum-case and one knock-off Duck Poker v2). The quality was shit. There were some severe scratches where you can see them. The anodizing job was like mediocre. There were coarse grains all over the cases. I'd never buy cheap ones again.

The problem with the coarse grains is a really big one: They can appear even on very high-quality cases...
I've heard about issues with anodizing, imperfections like things being uneven (from casting vs. milling? Or the reverse? I honestly don't know enough about the process to remember), colour being off, etc.

I don't know if the factory this guy got his case from is the same as the one supplying me for this group-buy. Also, all sales are personally checked and packaged by me, no one will receive an imperfect product, especially not one with damage.

EDIT: - In addition, all previous cases I have sold in earlier rounds of this group-buy have been very good quality with no damage/marks.
