having left my tulip doubleshots in just "oxy clean" for about two weeks (one week was dull and rained a lot) second week is now really sunny .
they have come out spot on .first one the plain spacebar





plus a couple of pic's of my "set up" first one a case I'm just started "experimenting with"

I obtained excellent results on a badly yellowed case using this:

Took about a quarter of the contents of the bottle
stirred in half a teaspoon of OxyClean (rather less, in fact)
applied with a paintbrush and left it on the balcony (in an uncovered plastic box)
for two days (second day with some sunshine).

The mixture being a creamy liquid which tends to flow a bit, every two to four hours or so
I dipped the paintbrush in what had collected in the box and applied again.

Now you wouldn't know the case once was yellowed

I did a test run today with just the AEK spacebar. I used some 20ml of 12% peroxide and substantially more oxy than what is stated in the recipe (that was more than enough for a spacebar and I ended up throwing away most of the mixture). It was a pretty cloudy day outside, and temperature was below 20c. Nonetheless, the result is really good.

Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny, so both AEK and m0116 will go out in the sun to loose that tan I guess I will need to protect the Apple's logo with some tape, though.

A word of warning. You can definitely go overboard when doing this. From another forum:
"This is a process where more isn't better; we are deliberately keeping the peroxide strength on the weaker side, so that the bromine molecules are favoured by the peroxide over the polymer; If you use very strong peroxide or add loads of Oxy, one of the side effects you might see is where the polymer gets attacked and turned to the hydroperoxide, usually by attacking the free butadiene bonds. What you will see is that the plastic takes on a white, ashen-looking "bloom" that unfortunately is permanent. This cannot be fixed and should be avoided."

Well, I found out this the hard way:

After the first session, the result wasn't even across top case parts, so I tried another two times. I didn't check the case against the keys or the bottom case, which in hindsight was very stupid of me. One session was longer than usual as I was away from home, and there might have been some more Oxy than prescribed, but not that much. Also, during first two sessions I didn't wrap everything in foil, so the mixture dried up on the case, which also didn't help. In any case, I will wait for re-yellowing to kick in and see how it will affect the cases.

Those are some before pictures. 50-50 usage of distilled water and 30%-H2O2 with a little bit of vanish.
