I can't defend whoever sold the wingnut in the first place, as I don't think it should belong to anyone who hasn't won a DT Award. However, I can understand this guy wanting to recoup some of the money he spent on the keycap.
And yes, I will absolutely defend artisan madness. Not because I don't think it's stupid, but because so long as people are willing to pay these prices there will be people selling for those prices. There's nothing anyone can do about that, and anyone who complains about it is more idiotic than the people paying those amounts of money.

OP is more about the Wingnut than about the clack market IMO.

I'm trying to get in contact with the guy and see how much he wants. I'm sure it will be a lot of money but I will sell some of my stuff and maybe with some help I can get it back.
I really don't want that cap in the hands of a collector, I will do my best to get it back, but first the guy must answer my PM

Why don't you ask him who he bought it from?

Once I establish a connection I'll do that too. But I doubt he will answer me, there are some deep pocket collectors out there, with disposable income who can afford do make a 1000$ offer without to blink

It's an exclusive item alright, no wonder those GH high-rollers drop big $$$ for them.

I think some people jerk off looking at these caps ...
You should see when the circle jerk starts... on "fill the blanks with whatever" it's no longer one place, it's fun to watch
Especialy when the high rollers come...

I can quite understand Daniels point, but you can basically do whatever you wan't with something you own.
The artisan shit has reached a ridiculous level of stupidity. I personally was never a fan of artisan caps but it's the same thing with every rare item.
If my poop would be super rare, Kim Kardashian would wear it as a necklace.
Same applies to artisan caps, if my poop were a artisan cap... well you got the idea

You are right. I had some experience with artisan caps, to be honest most of them are unusable on 60% , look like crap feel worst. I have some I can use and like, everything else went. The blanks are the the best, the more comple the crappier the feel is on Esc. Esc is very important for me and the only place such a cap can go so it must feel perfect.

I'm pretty sure Kim K. wears her own poop as a necklace. You're right of course about the hype. But I really thought all clacks were hand-made limited editions. At least then the crazy high prices would be somewhat comprehensible.
