I'm giving this a try now, I never heard of it until now. I'll give a little feedback after a week or so.

What's the draw exactly? Isn't Firefox free enough for you? Sounds more open than this.Wikipedia wrote:License: Proprietary freeware with open-source components

Cool, thanks for the feedback.
I don't use Firefox anymore, that's the draw. No need for stagnation. If you ask me Firefox is about as open source as Android is. Of course I'll catch flak for this but I don't care.

I'm using uzbl for now, but the browser has been unmaintained for a while now and is completely deprecated due to its use of WebKit 1...
Sadly I still didn't find a proper browser to replace it.

Unmaintained for a while is worse than proprietary freeware with open-source components IMO. But it's preference.

Way back, I used to hop around between browsers too. Ones I spent several years using were Netscape, OmniWeb, Firefox, Camino and of course Safari. Tried out various versions of IE back in the day, too, along with oddballs like iCab and TenFourFox. Yes, even Chrome, now and then.
Never did feel really at home in any of them until OmniWeb supported Dropbox sync and Safari supported extensions. OmniWeb stagnated, alas, but Safari's come along nicely in recent years. Before I could Adblock with it, Apple's own browser wasn't much use to me, but ever since then it's become quite indispensable. The way they're using iCloud to keep sessions in sync across Macs and iPhones is fantastic.
If I was on some other platform, I'd run Firefox. And probably be keeping a keener eye on alternatives, because I never could love Firefox. Respect it, sure, but we were too awkward for each other!

I'd figure you'd be a safari-only user Mu.

Before this goes any further I'd like to emphasise I am not promoting this software in any way. And it's in BETA status. So just stick to whatever you're using now like Netscape navigator 1.0.

Tried it, couldn't get the customization I wanted (addon compatibility problems). Still on Firefox which runs like shit (but my places.sql is almost 60mb from the last 10 years or so).
I need some "basic" functionally from a browser these days : vertical tabs, mouse gestures, link/image/text drag&drop, tab opening/closing rules (move to left/right on new tab/tab close, open next to current tab on gesture x or open in background on gesture y, etc).
my current addons

I used to run a shit-ton of addons in Firefox, too. But when Google Browser Sync sunk, I changed browsers and began to get minimalist. Must have had 8-12 regulars in Firefox, like you, but not nowadays:
of these, but I've gotten too lazy to remember to actually use them!
Used to run a few - sinusoid

That's an interesting browser I didn't hear about! Thanks.
