This topic I posted on my facebook page half years ago. For some reason someone have problem about this keyboard, so I posted here to give some quality photo and replacement here.
This is my second IBM Buckling spring keyboard. Many keyboard with this model original couldn't use on computer when it released(maybe).
I take the half day to clean the keyboard fully and half day to do these steps:
1. repaired the capacitors error;
2. used the 3M electronic tape to fix the PCB(because I broken the PCB plastic lock), membrane and the piece of dome;
3. used the 3M electronic tape to fix the spring to the front case(for the future to open the case easily);
4. finished
The PBT keycaps are low profile compare to Model M's. They're dye sublimation printing.
-How to fix the capacitor failure (situation for Caps and Scroll Lock are lighting on)
1. Replace two electrolytics:
(Small one)Replace 2.2uF 50v to 2.2uF 100V electrolytic(電解電容)
(Big one)Replace 47uF 16v to 47uF 16V tantal(鉭質電容)
2. Connect the USB to PS/2 converter into the keyboard(if occurs problem, plug usb out and try again)
-Found problems(fixed)
Enter = Enter + \
(remove left spring can fix this)
Numerical pad: Enter = Enter + F7
(remove upper spring can fix this)
