I recently came into possession of a couple of boards that I want to auction off. Would prefer not to go through ebay, so I'd prefer to do it on DT. Is this sort of thing permitted? Where should I post it? How should I go about calling attention to it? Is there anything else I should know, or any suggestions you guys could give me?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I don't believe there are any official rules for auctions here at DT. You might want to ask our admins or how to go about this beforehand.

In that case, who should I ask? Not very familiar with the community of DT.

No one will stop you from auctioning stuff here.
But beware that no one will stop other people from complaining if they don't like auctions either.

Be sure and clear of the rules of your auction before you start.

Are these the 5000s?

I'd set a deadline and the highest bid wins, may or may it be not made public (the name of the buyer as well the highest bid number).

I could need a 5000 but i think they will sell for a high value.

Consider having a look at my trade thread before you auction those things off. I want one!

A reverse auction is easy enough to do here. Start with a slightly higher asking price and just lower it until someone bites.

Knowing me, I'd set my starting price too low. I have decided to do what Madhias suggested. I was thinking of that anyway. I have taken some pics (and yes, they are the 5000s).
Just need to write up the thread and try to keep it as fair and open as possible.

The way some of my fellow enthusiasts are asking for your 5000s already I'd say you don't even need an auction.

Keyboard vendor, whenever she finds something awesome the IBM guys go crazy.

photekq is our top cherry shark, but I think Scott is turning into one too.

Ah, I would be right there with that crowd.
Also it's awkward that that term is already in use. If I were ever to create a custom keyboard it would be named something shark-related, due to my name being a fictional shark.
I digress. I'll see what I can do about getting the post up sometime in the next day.

I believe there is some truth to that Scott. And as you know there is no turning back. One more thing you're on the lookout for from now on. Personally I never really got into vintage cherries even though I own a couple but the lack of a metal plate is not acceptable to me. The only vintage MX board I really like is my Commodore.

I recently got rid of a 5000, perhaps I should stock up again
Will they ship from Australia?
Any 5700 to go with them?
Will you accept payment in instalments (over 10 to 12 years)?

Yes, they'll be shipped from Australia.
Unfortunately, I did not get any 5700s.
I will need you to complete the ritual of accountability and provide me with the still-beating heart of a virgin as collateral, but sure.
