err... you want 500 switches for free? :?
I'm pretty sure that he means that he pays for the whole set, and if you could proxy for him then he would give you the 300 switches that you asked for as a thank-you... Though if you feel like giving away free switches then I'm in too
Yes, this :P
EDIT; The idea is, I pay for the swicthes, and shipping to you, you keep 300, and pay for shipping the rest to me (if the price to ship to me would work out too high, then nvm :P).

I'ld say there is something ALPSy in there. Usual bigass Return with tiny backspace, case looks a tad like Fokus and googling the model # 5161 gives Chicony with ALPS style sliders and similar layout. The WordStar cheat sheet is a nice touch too. :)

The heavily yellow caps might be the original doubleshots...but you can definitely see where he filled up with lasered caps in the f row

He either has some kind of software that scans vintage keyboard sales from any source, worldwide... or he has some sort of deal with Satan.

Went for $1125. Another good flaunting opportunity.

Hi guys,

I stumbled upon this french eBay seller who happens to have some -maybe- interesting keyboards, though I'm not sure what kind of switches any of those use. Keyboards are all QWERTY. Pretty yellowish and dirty as well, but prices (excl. shipping) seem correct (although I'm really not familiar with any of this).

Sun Type 4 + Optical mouse (but no mat, so unusable AFAIK) - 12 EUR
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/clavier-sun-mode ... 3cdbc7aebb
Image

Amstrad PCW 8256 Keyboard - 7 EUR
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/clavier-amstrad- ... 1c3bef1f30
Image

An ancient Silicon Graphics board, probably from an IRIS 1000 or 2000 workstation, circa 1985 / 1987 - 26 EUR
http://www.ebay.fr/itm/clavier-silicon- ... 3cdbc78ada
Image

Some newer Silicon Graphics keyboard, really not sure which model (w/o cable) - 17 EUR

The guy says he will only ship to France, but if anyone's interested I might very well grab those and ship them myself, as he's not so far away from me. Provided those are not garbage, that is. :)

I'd like some of Silicon Graphics legendary "granite" caps, but I don't know if that is indeed the right keyboard to score them from.

Last one's an IBM XT. A nice Model F. One of the best, if you can live with the layout.

I don't think I'd have the heart to buy an SGI Granite just for the caps. I've got some SGI machines around that would love a Granite keyboard, too!

Also, as far as I know there were two SGI ALPS keyboards - the Granite, and also a beige one, and I suspect that this is one of the beige ones. They both have slightly different keycap colours. The only place I know to get decent-condition SGI stuff is from this guy here, if you're interested in getting one that's not quite so... yellow.

Thanks a lot for posting this: I once bought one of these Silicon Graphics boards you mention last: not a yet a granite, but one of the earlier not-ps/2 compatible boards. Nice keycaps, but less nice than the real granite boards.
(if I see this correctly from an unclear picture)

Edit: as scottc pointed out in an earlier post I overlooked; I also think this is one of the beige ones..

I'm interested in the older Silicon Graphics board of the two, sending you a PM...
thanks,

J.

Sure it is. I have one in rotation. Just needs a Teensy. Mine lives inside of this:

A different socket on each side so I can use PS/2, XT and RJ45. Because I have an IBM or two for each!
