Re: Best Case/PCB for Alps Switches
A split ortho Alps build will be my next project. What did you end up doing about keycaps? I can't decide whether to go with Matias blanks, vomit, or a combination of the two.ZedTheMan wrote: 15 Nov 2019, 03:40 I personally have SKCL greens on my Iris. It's a good mix, I think. Partially because I wanted a split ergo alps build.

Don't take this the wrong way, 'cause I definitely appreciate the feedback, but I've used this same bottle of alcohol on several PCBs now. As a matter of fact, I just finished a Clueboard last week and I used this same bottle of alcohol and a stiff brush to scrub the rosin off of its PCB. I've never ...

I just ran into this same problem, myself. I picked up a new (to me, obviously) Model M and verified that it worked on a PC with a PS/2 port. I then did some light cleaning under and between the caps with Q tips and some isopropyl. I had a quick look inside the case and since it was already pretty ...

Once you have the physical hardware (switches, wire and diodes) matrix established and built, you have to define that matrix in the firmware. The controller can't send the correct scan codes to the operating system, until you define which switches are connected to which controller pins. That is what ...

It will be a Cherry MX+ALPS keyboard, drag-n-drop firmware update, trackpoint support, split spacebar support, available in 60% and 65% layouts which also happens to have LEDs... if you want them.
MX+Alps, 3U spacebars, trackpoint support ... it sounds like you have a solution to the Alps keycap ...
