I think I can offer just my $.02 for the top plate construction. My thought after making mine out of 1.5mm acrylic was that it was too flexible and I should have provided more support throughout the middle of the case to prevent that. Now I have solder joints ...

Ordered mine this week, really looking forward to the build.

Definitely going to be a learning curve to adapt to the size, but I think this will be a nice alternative to carrying around a tkl when I'm going between two offices several days a week.
