Just curious, but my order (150) was one of the first you marked as packed I believe. Any chance it's shipped yet? No biggie, but just excited to get them!
The group buy is over now. I do apologize for not being able to work out some better ISO options. As it turns out, it wasn't a huge volume group buy and the numbers just weren't there to do much more. Either way, thanks to those that placed an order.
FYI, the deadline has been extended from tomorrow (March 15th) until Monday morning at 8am on March 18th. I'm traveling, so this shouldn't delay the order process at all... just gives a little more time if anyone needs it.
I routinely rotate between red, brown, and blue switches. I can honestly say that I don't notice any more typos with Red than anything else. In fact, I probably have more on the blues because my fingers get spoiled with the light touches on reds that I may not fully actuate a switch when going fast ...
I bought a white ninja with red switches a while back on US Amazon too. Seems like most people (that would bother visiting a forum like this anyway) eventually end up replacing the caps anyway, so basically it's identical.
FYI, I bought a case from the first release. It fit just fine for my Filco. (I think very few had any problems, and most were easily fixed.) No one in the first batch got feet, but they actually just sent them last week.
You don't have to desolder anything... simply remove the single screw in the ...
Yeah, I think you are right. The Retro and Noir kits looks like they're the same size and such as I've mocked up. (My mockups aren't exact of course.) I'll look into what those extra 5 keys will add.

Correct. You get one of each, though I'd imagine it won't be too hard to swap or buy an extra from someone else if you want one. Mac users give to windows users give to linux users give to mac users... etc.
As I mentioned to dirge, I'd be very happy to help out if I can. But according to my calculations with the current 8 key set, they're already priced possibly at a loss depending on volume. (A little loss is okay.) So I doubt we have much room to work, but I'm willing to look into it.
Green is also used sometimes instead of red to prevent loss of night vision. Red may be better, but some tactical flashlights have both red and green modes.
I don't know... for me WPM don't matter much outside of typing tests. Real practical speed just comes from years typing in the correct way. But regardless... to improve your WPM, I'd recommend http://typeracer.com . It's a fun and competitive way to improve your speed.
