If I wanted to add a hub option to my current keyboard what kind of hardware would I need to get, because I don't think the host shield would work for that purpose?

Not sure what you want. You want to install USB hub into your keyboard? If so any hub will work for you.

Awesome. I'd be willing to pitch in some help on exporting schematics/PCB, this will give me an excuse to learn JavaScript and a project to work on. Also any plans to create a print function to print out the layout?

Could use a transistor on a pin to switch the LEDs on and off then probably. Total current limit on the Teensy might be an issue though. I'll do a look see when I get back to an actual computer.

Could you use the same method you you'd use to turn the LEDs for CapsLock, NumLock, and ScrollLock on and off?

Also does it not matter that the the inputs are left floating for the rows/columns? Or am I missing seeing something that is pulling them either high or low?
