Hmm, I always thought I would go with an Endurapro for the compactness and the pointing stick, but this 122-key layout is kind of exotic and cool. How programmable are all those extra keys?

Oh, the worst is websites that have their own hotkeys. For example, on twitter 'F5' is remapped to 'reply to current tweet' instead of 'reload'.

Ah, I figured out where my preference for Ctrl-PgUp/Dn comes from; I use gnome-terminal with multiple tabs and that is the hotkey for switching between tabs as well (but not Ctrl-Shift-[/])

Firefox also has Ctrl-PgUp, Ctrl-PgDn to cycle tabs (which I tend to use rather than Ctrl-Tab).

Interesting. I use Command+[ or ] to go back or forward in history, and Shift+Command+[ ] to go between tabs. Works in every browser. Seems there's a dozen different ways to do it!

Escape seems to be used to clear current selections or return to the 'main' window in certain GUIs. It's a bit inconvenient for use in vim, so usually I use Ctrl-C which has the same binding.

A truly ridiculous feature of the standard keyboard layout is the horizontal staggering. A remnant of the early mechanical typewriter days and completely superfluous for electronic keyboards.

Ctrl gets used a fair bit, especially when needing to send special signals into a text terminal where normal keypresses would be interpreted as text. Some early keyboards had Ctrl in the place of Caps lock.

It's a unix thing; I think it started with vi, the ancestor of the text editor vim. It's pretty popular among devlopers, so lots of times you will find websites have vim navigation bindings (at least J down K up, such as twitter, duckduckgo, facebook).

Yes the blue switches themselves are fine, still getting used to them. I noticed they can be re-actuated without completely releasing the key and having to re-'click'.

Looks like a lot of G80s were sacrificed to create that second keyboard :D

I also just found if you press 8 keys at once on any 1 row, it activates CapsLk (may have something to do with having swapped Ctrl and CapsLk)

The keys fit very tightly over the mounts (compared to the CM Storm where the keys easily 'snap on', the keys on the G80 have to be pressed down all the way). So my first mechanical keyboard I've owned since a couple months ago has been a CM Storm QuickFire XT (MX Red). It's great, compact and sturdy. Hmm, 'B' is equal distance from F and J (home position for index fingers). I do use right index for B sometimes if a left-modifier is needed (Ctrl-B)

Judging by the 'smoothing' on my laptop keyboard 'J' and 'N' and Left Ctrl appear to be the most smoothed, followed by F, H, K, L, B, and space bar (under right thumb only).
The next most smoothed keys would maybe be E, T, Left Alt, Left Shift, Tab, I, O, R, period, semicolon and enter.
