Thanks for all the great advice. I'll write up something and at some point let you know if there is any progress. I'll look this over again but I tend to agree with those commenting on weight. It's the simplest although he did ask for pics so I'll supply him with something. If nothing else, I could ...

recycling center photo request
Under the pretext that I have some old Dells to dispose of at work I took the opportunity to sweet talked the manager of a pretty large electronics recycling center near me into entertaining the idea of looking out for keyboards. He asked that I email him some photos of what I'm looking for to help ...

Keycat cleaned and before and after Model 925 whitened. Keys still not there but it was a first and I'm not sure how that works with non-white. At any rate, I was just putting the case in a bath.
Keycat works all around. Couldn't really get the spacebar on the 925 right although it's not useable ...

Middle row, third from the Top. Its an old apple keyboard.
It actually feels pretty good. Probably the nicest after the Alps or the springs maybe depending on preference. It's missing the uppermost right key though. I'm having trouble getting the slash to the left of it on correctly after pulling ...

Bunch from a storage unit
Wasn't sure what all I was getting. Need a bath obviously. I guess 5 is a Brother Switch. Very heavy. Picked up another IBM not in these shots that's not as heavy but bigger. Same switch.
Not sure about 4. I've seen one posted somewhere. It's stiff and linear.

The mini is RJ 45 though. Not as desirable I'd think. Good shape though. The boards I bought were in bulk. He had 2 like the picture, I can post the other but the keycaps were more standard. Couple of others were interesting but missing cases. I picked up the ones he was willing to sell as a lot ...

what's this one?
Saw this in a storage unit. Wasn't sure what to make of it. Had some similar stuff. I didn't get pictures of it all. There was an IBM mini attached to a terminal. Wasn't sure if there is interest in those as I understand they don't adapt to modern PC.

Probably not worth updating but keyboard is doing fine. As kalrykh says, trial and error worked it out. The only annoying thing about it is I have to get used to picking the heavy thing up when I need some work space. If I push it the feet collapse because they grip the desk pretty strong. I realize ...

I have the same issue in Oregon. Pasadena may have a Fry's around. I"ve found you can try Corsair K60 and K90, Razer Black Widow, Coolermaster Rapid and Quickfire, Steelseries maybe, Siig, and Mionix Zibal 60 at the one here. No Topre or other top brands but obviously you get a mix of switches. Reds ...

thanks. Doesn't seem to help though. I can definitly see when loosening the screws that the right side bobs up whereas the left pretty much stays in place. I've torqued it beyond the point of safety with no results. Oh it flexed alright. No popping sounds though. I think it might be a little better ...

fixing a wobbly keyboard
So I just brought a new filco majestouch 2 to work. FILCKF15 model. It's replacing a Ducky DK1008 with the green alps. It seems like a fine keyboard. However I noticed right away that the upper right is off the surface a little with or without feet extended so I get some wobble when using keys up on ...
