I have gone through the manual, and I might have missed this part on the key seating/troubleshooting, but I am having a "timing" issue.

Got my brand new Model F FSSK. Set it up, got the keys installed, tested, they all work. However, I am having a problem with letters getting typed "out of order ...

Is it possible to get them assembled like this in the box? Or not? Or was this one special?

My FSSK came unassembled with one of the keys broken (the quotation key)

A question on the keys, I on the product page it shows the keys you are going to ship. Does it include a the keys necessary to swap the “Caps Key” and the left “control” key for those who prefer to have the control key to the left of the home row instead of the (mostly unused) caps lock key?

Ellipse, thanks for the reply. I think mentioning the solenoid driver location/electrical isolation is something that should be added to the manual/video. Also, I did experience the same electrical gremlin that AgentOrange96 experienced. Initially I screwed the solenoid in too tightly, and it didn't ...

I got my solenoid in and installed it, got it working!

In the manual it shows you where to install the solenoid in the classic case. But nothing deals with where to put the driver board. Other than using some double stick tape, does anyone have a good suggestion?

I think might be a way to use your quick 100% key quality control check AND have the preferred firmware on there keyboards.

Why not set up a script all that as soon as the QC is finished it reflashes the ...

After un-plugging and re-plugging the keyboard a couple of times, none of the keys register. I'm a bit at a loss.

The device still does show up correctly in the system log (dmesg) when plugged in.

If you get the HHKB layout you can use FN + [ - ; - ' - / (up - left - right - down) for arrow keys.

Something like this set but you would have to cut off the tip of the flat hook so it would fit. It might work. A trip to the hardware store would probably reveal a better choice. You might be able to 3D print one as well...

I would imagine a much more effective tool would be one that fits down the hole in the middle of the insert and pulls up instead of putting pressure from the inside out. Something that is shaped like a “L” perhaps where the bottom of the L is small enough so once it gets to the bottom of the shaft ...

I have a F62 compact as well and I left that “natural” with the ping/ring. For the F77 Classic I did the floss mod and it is ring free. There is a very slight increase in activation force with the floss. But overall I really like it. It is my daily driver.
