sand, that's all I have to say xD, but in more seriousness, I and my friends used to try to make the scratchiest speed cube (Rubik's cube but better), but you can do things with those that you can't exactly do with a switch because it doesn't have electrical components, like putting peanut ...

how to change name on deskthority
I made this name 2 or 3 years ago and I would like to change it, but when I try to change it in my profile manager it literally shows up as being uneditable, no matter what I try, and it seems like nobody else is having this problem. thanks.

Re: How to make the worst switch possible?
Chyros had a really shit SCLS module. I had one and it was extremely smooth with zero binding. The keyfeel was weird, but not bad. People need to stop taking his word as gospel.

I spend a lot of my time working on ergonomics, and re-learning things for the sake of ergonomics. anything from a 30% to the dactyl manuform 6x6. it hasn't even become an ergonomic thing anymore, now its just for fun. this layout seems very interesting and I have always wanted a layout like this ...

Re: Vintage MX Blacks - smoothness due to use, manufacture or something else?
a lot of people seem to have the misconception that mx linear switches really fell off, and now they are worse then ever. this is not true. the only reason that vintage blacks are so highly praised is because they are vintage, and have been used a lot. retooled blacks were a viable solution, until ...

Re: Have you ever seen Num/Caps/Scroll Lock actually used WITH modifiers (Shift, Ctrl, Alt) to obtain a different action
as a loyal user of the planck, I can say that two layers is all that I need. but three is a bit overkill, which is exactly why I have a 48 key instead of a 47 key, which is where I stash my third layer. the thing with the planck is that you really can only have one set of fn/cmt/ctrl or whatever ...

these do sound very bassy, but it does have the same problem that mx blues and greens have. its the fact that they are so goddamn rattley, and the sound is not conformed at all. the best way that I could describe them, is locusts nest.

You know when you're on Deskthority when even a thread with "best modern" in the title yields recommendations of decades old boards. It's "modern" if it's new old stock, right?
I guess so. As I said, the plank has support for alps skcm skcl switches, but I was more looking for mx style yes.

Re: Best modern contact-based linear switch.
Most MX switches are pretty good with regards to smoothness but personally MX Blacks if used a long time are very smooth.

This is something that I have been wondering myself as well. I think that if there was a Modern Bluetooth mouse in a classic mouse enclosure, that would be cool. This is an old thread I know, but I was wondering if their was any updates on if anyone has found anything yet.

In my profile it straight up says that I am not that into mice. But I do know this one thing. This looks very interesting. I think that its great that people are making a departure from 40-75% exclusively, and not including anything above that. I am not new to linears that aren’t exactly new, and have tried the best of the best contactless switches. The only problem that I had with most of them, is the fact that they actuate way too high for me. (In relation to the contactless switches). And I know keyboards like the wooting that use ...

Topre, the best modern day alternative to a traditional mechanical. In my opinion, topre feels amazing. KB 7953 definitely. It sounds like nothing new, but the feel is where it would get people. That board is not insanely well known, but it probably is worth something anyway. Unless it is the later black version, in which case it is pretty worthless.

At least they have an iso layout lmao. I wish we would go back to this time when thick durable plastic cases were normal, and the sound is allowed to run rampant. That case is just bonkers for what the keyboard actually is.
