Re: NEC APC-H412 restoration process and review
I have one of these - it was one of the first vintage mechs I picked up. They're superb boards, but they real don't lend themselves to self-servicing. Currently my board is sitting in a box with a bunch of spare parts from a donor board and is awaiting a proper restoration. If you need some spare ...

Re: What is the best Topre keyboard for gaming and general use?
I mean, you can dispute it all you like, that's how it made my fingers feel. The only other switch I can recall that made my fingers tired like that was MX blacks (which is about where I'd draw the line for linear switch stiffness), and only in certain games. Topre switches felt good to type on, but ...

Re: What is the best Topre keyboard for gaming and general use?
The standard Topre switches have a long, drawn-out tactility that makes them feel awfully hard to press and hold down compared to other switches of their weighting. DSI Modular Keyboard DS-90
Back in my day, a keyboard had more than 100 keys on it; that's a full layout with arrow keys, a numpad, the whole shebang. Now kids these days want keyboards with fewer and fewer keys so they can contort their lazy, millennial hands into all sorts of unsavory positions just to press the F-keys ...

KME board with KPT blues
So I bought this KME board on Ebay for cheap after waiting on it for a while. I didn't think much of it but apparently it's not well documented so here are some images and info. VR20X6/kf1246 was the one who recommended that I do. He said he had a similar board but in worse condition and with ...

Some observations...
Did you check the inside of the upper case? There may be date codes/part codes/etc on it.
That PCB doesn't support an ANSI pipe/backslash key. There's a cutout where the contacts and traces for that would normally go. Also, it appears to have traces/contact points for a full ...

Inb4 someone did this before.
What do you get when you mix TTCs with Aristotle sliders?

Autism. Also, a clicky switch. I'm calling it a "creamsickle" because vanilla and orange sherbert soft serve is better than sex.
Not that I'd know.
