Did you check the inside of the upper case? There may be date codes/part codes/etc on it.

As someone who owns both (and uses the Model F on an occasional basis), I honestly can't say I've noticed a significant difference purely in the tactility of the captivate buckling spring mechanism vs the membrane one.

MX1A-G1DN is an MX Brown part code. Judging by that, and the fact that the actuation forces match, I'd say they just screwed up the picture.
