Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
Thanks guys. I got better potatoes: BTC-53 (foam and foil), Mitsumi KPQ (tactile dome), and Se Jin EAT 1010R2 (Futaba MA, reverse cross mount). It's gonna be a pass. Interested in checking them out, could have salvaged the BTC caps, but not worth two hours in the car. Not with gas at nearly $1.80/L ...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
Hello everyone. Can you help me ID these 3 Model M looking keyboards from this potato? Planning to go pick them up, but it's a bit of a drive. One ANSI, one ISO with windows keys, one Bigass enter. No badges visible. Classic colours and layout. Thank you. https://imgur.com/gallery/X4uaYbn

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
Like a model M but with a rectangular badge (missing)
Please help me ID what looks to me like a Model M copy. Any idea of make, model or switch?
Thanks
Edit. Krytronic maybe? Looks like Keytronic E03600 rubber dome, but without windows keys. Anyone know the model or switch?

Re: Matias Quiet Clicks - scratchy?
I have a "Tactile Pro" (clicky) with their clickiest switches, and though I loved it when I first got it years ago, I do find it incredibly scratchy now. I will eventually try to linearize and lube these. I also had a "quiet click" keyboard (tactile) at work that I absolutely loved and I miss it ...

I've read that nail polish will do that. Or maybe it's just long nails?zrrion wrote: 13 Jul 2020, 04:15 I've seen a few that have that on the numpad enter key
I assume they are in an environment where there additional abrasives present that cause additional wear to the keys

Re: Issues with a Matias Tactile Pro 4 I bought
I have 3 Matias boards and I really like them. I've had no trouble swapping the caps on my Tactile Pro with Tai-Hao, AEKii and Vintage Toshiba caps. Sorry to hear you've had bad luck.

Mouse mods: wireless Apple G5431 and MX Master battery replacement
Here’s a little video of an Apple G5431 mouse made wireless. It’s only one button, but still pretty cool. https://youtu.be/Nioyj4QXn_g

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
All you would have to do is:
- remove the keycaps shown in the pic
- find keycaps with the correct ANS size that would optically fit the keyboard (that's probably the toughest part)
- mod the keycaps as necessary so that they have one stem sitting on each of the existing switches
- for the caps ...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
Hello fellow DTs. Would like some help identifying this keyboard. It's one of many that I acquired in a recent "barn find" along with some WYSE 50s and Model Ms. It's branded HEXATEK, which seems to be a local IT company, and the PCB is marked Cherry 122. Thick AT cable. The switches appear to be ...

I'm trying to put together an AEK64 using Hasu's pcb and AEK (US layout) plate. I've harvested cream dampened switches and keycaps from a French Canadian ISO AEKii, but I haven't found a satisfactory solution to making everything fit. I don't like ISO layout, especially the short ...
