Re: Model X CTRL - BLE Model M Universal Controller
Just wanted to chime in with some appreciation for this mod.
Apparently I was the first buyer with an SSK and Nic was very quick to implement support for it, including the NumLock switching behavior. He was also very responsive regarding the issues I encountered during my first days of use.
The ...

Re: Model X CTRL - BLE Model M Universal Controller
Thank you for your direct question, I appreciate it.
Despite I took inspiration from Model H, without even looking at BLUsb, the two project ended to be identical.
And I think BLUsb is a really good project, but based on a different philosophy than mine.

Model X CTRL - BLE Model M Universal Controller
Hi everybody,
It's a while I was writing here last.

Model X is a direct replacement controller for the classic IBM Model M keyboards and is designed to fit and work with:

- SSK 84/85 keys ...

Re: Model M SSK Case
Great job on the 3D printing!
But then again, Unicomp (eventually and hopefully in the next 3 years) will begin selling their minis. They will also have their cases sold as parts. Going by their current pricing for the model M cases, they are likely to be in the range of 20 to 30 USD.
Given ...

Noted down, thanks for the suggestion.
My original idea was do an exact replica of the original one, but all ideas are welcome.
I was thinging, even colors would be a funny option: black, industrial gray, brown, yellow... maybe even translucent.

10 PRINT "HELLO LINUS"
20 GOTO 10
If you then type RUN+Return Key.... you'll stuck in an infinite loop.
If I remember well it was possible to break it by pressing RunStop+Restore keys.

This beauty and his twin I own are equipped with one stem keycap (integrated stem) that are really hard to find, expecially the keys for the integrated numpad.

Just a stupid question... Did you try to swap the key-frames between keyboards? The fault should move together with the faulty component.
Never give up... I think Unicomp and/or ClickyKeyboard still have cables, keys, keycaps and membranes.

Congratulations also from my side!
Glad if somebody else can take advantage from mine and Off's tips or fault tracing method for the Model M.
Thank you for having reported reparation results. It was kind from your side.
Ops... we posted simultaneosly

IBM Model F screws
I recently got an IBM Model F. Feel and click is even better than the Model M!
Now it's time to clean it carefully....
I thought that screws on the back should be 5.5mm as the model M but they aren't.
It's sure not metric eigther, because the M6 hex-screwdriwer appears to be too little, while the ...

A IBM b.s. keyboards documentary should be really interesting, including a visit to actual Unicomp. I'm sure they will not refuse... after all it's advertising.
