I have been messing with my extra blue switches recently. I figured out a mod to adjust the noise and basically retain the click. Requires a lot of time (for a whole boards worth of switches), but only an hobby knife to achieve.

Very good idea! I like it except for the part of having to kill SKCC switches for it. On the other hand someone may be in a situation where threre is no other way to use really nice SKCC keycaps. I wonder when we will be seeing the first mod...

.... Was that tape and foam stuck to the back of the keyboard PCB? That "calcium residue" should come off but dried up marking tape is not easy, if that's what it is. It should be only cosmetic anyway.
